Its great news that Webjet is on board.

The way its come about with the information released to date raises some issues.

If Schwab is responsible for this then he deserves congratulations.

CS tweeted last night the following :

"Timing can be everything. Had discussions with Webjet last year but weren't considering sponsorship. Window opened. Deal done in 24 hrs. "

I think the Link to Eddie can be put to bed.

Yes. And the timing in this instance (due to EW debacle) has given Webjet so much more exposure than would normally be expected.

Credit where credit is due> If the CEO has to take responsibility for not securing a sponsor, he gets to take to take the credit and kudos when one is secured.

Thats not true. He got a "free kick" when a supporter introduced Kaspersky. If the sponsor win reflects the efforts of the CEO then he should be congratulated.

Thanks. On the basis well done CS.

Pity its a 1+2 yr contract and not a full 3 years. Hope they renew.

The 21st of March 2011 saw John Guscic take over as Managing Director, while former Managing Director and founder David Clarke assumed the role of Non Executive Chairman.[8]

David Clarke is a pretty common name.

I certainly hope it's not Bill Farrow's mate from Pyramid, whose ban from running a business would be well behind him now. There was a Geelong connection mentioned in another post.

This is why the EW fiasco was never really going to harm the club long term as I posted when it happened. The publicity gained from the club doing the "right" thing at earliest oportunity won us a lot of good publicity. This has paved the way for a sweet publicity ride for the new sponsor full of good cheer, backslapping and well dones.

Funnily enough, this will end up being good for the club.

Its not the same David Clarke of Geelong/Pyramid fame. But its a common name.

Suppose its up to us now - our destiny is in our own hands. If we all as a club contribute in a positive manner they will renew. I'm pretty confident sponsors judge the club and not base their decisions on match day results.

Everything you now put in a public domain can now be judged.

Balls in our court so to speak.

Has anyone got a photo of what the jumper looked like from TFS? Interested to see the logo on the jumper.

It was the Reach logo jumper with a Webjet logo sticker over the top of it.

They'd be stickers Webjet already had made up for another purpose and subsequently weren't an accurate indication of the size or colour.

Pity this

Hope that

Good job Cam

While it's not a big drama, there's definitely room for improvement in the appearance of the logo. It'll take a bit of getting used to otherwise...

Agree. I was thinking of some of the off field issues in the past 12 months more than the on field matters.

I think the Webjet deal represents an opportunity for MFC rather than a ringing endorsement.

We need to make this a winner for us!

So will we have jumpers done for tomorrows game? I presume not. So will we have stickers or patches sewn on?

This all reminds me of the years we had Pioneer Homes and Snowy Mountain debacle

What is market value RR? I'm talking real cash, not something some angry midget promised that was never there.

So B59, now that the FoJ sponsorship has been announced, and it would be safe to assume that it's not $1.9m or more, does that mean you owe me a beer?

While I'm sure you won't be getting the wallet out due to the fact that the amount hasn't been published, I'd think that if it was equal to or greater than Energy Watch, as you believed it should be, then I think the Club would've been giving us a ball park figure, especially considering the past month we've had to deal with.

Smartest thing you have said since posting Striker (no disrespect to anything else you have said)! You'll love it.

Billy ..I'll quite happily buy you a beer , but surely I dont owe you one.

Given that the BOJ is currently paying zilch. its hard to say otherwise. We have something of a stalemate. . Ill buy you a beer none the less. If you contact me pm we can arrange an occasion.

My argumetn re value of FOJ stil lstands..It must beowrth surely more than BOJ. . As alluded by myself given the change of circumstance it isnt a backward thing but an opportunity :).So far so good :)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
