Criticism of Watts is utterly ridiculous. Would be as fair as praise of Davey.

6- Magner

5- Martin

4- Trengove

3- Watts

Davey, Green and Moloney should be ashamed of themselves. If ever they wonder why they were demoted from the leadership group, this is why. Because a 24 year old battler from the VFL and a first gamer, put in a harder effort than they did today. Pathetic.

There was a big gap imo between magner and the next best.

I never want to see Aaron Davey in a Melbourne jumper again. Brad Green is also way to slow to play regular footy, and Joel Macdonald (who I used to rate higher than most) is now a deadset liability. Bring in Tapscott, Strauss and Petterd to replace them.

6. Magner - a first gamer...no words for this.

POTY. What a joke.

6 - Magner

5 - Grimes

4 - Trengove

3 - Watts (I feel wierd about this one, sublime skill level but found myself cursing him many times for shirking contests, if this guy finds some fire in the belly, he could be anything)

2 - Jones

1 - Howe (Seemed to be a dose of stick spray away from a big game today)

6 - Magner

5 - Watts

4 - Martin

3 - Frawley

2 - MacDonald

1 - Bartram

Anyone who has Grimes and/or Rivers in before MacDonald and Bartram need to get the blinkers off and judge players on the game played. Grimes, Rivers, Clarke, Jamar, Green, Davey, Moloney all very bad today.

Moloney may lift a lot a wieghts, but is there a midfielder that has less physical impact on the game? Soft.

1.Green ???????? Serious????

1.Green ???????? Serious????

Yes I am.

Trengove not in your best????

That is why it is called a personal opinion

Trengove 0.5, next in line, could have put a blanket over the 6 after Magner, but green bottom three, I find it hard to argue against him being very poor.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
