Also shattered, lost my Dad last week and now this Inspirational Champion.

If I can be half as good a person as these two heros in my life, I will be satisfied.

Rest comfortably Jimmy , thank you for being who you were.

Your legacy will live on forever.

I guess we all knew that at some stage this was going to happen, but nothing could prepare me for the way i feel right now. Jim - You had a massive impact on me, I grew up inspired by you and have continued to be inspired in my adult life. Your story is a bloody amazing one. We will never forget you and the legacy you have given our club.

Very sad news. Was a true fighting spirit and gave it all he had. Thoughts and prayers are with his family. Can't even begin to think what they're goin through right now.

You're legacy will live in Jim.

Words cannot say enough about how we all feel. To Sam and the children, you have been remarkable through all this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

'Do you love an apple, do you love a pear,

Do you love a laddie with curly brown hair,

Oh say I love him, I can't deny him.

I'll be with him wherever he goes"

Jim stynes will always be remembered as a fantastic footballer and an even better person. He has touched so many people and thoughts are with Sam, the kids and his family.

Very sad day indeed. I was fortunate to have met Jimmy once when he spoke here in Tassie about 5-6 years ago, fantastic speaker and truly inspirational, and that was before he got cancer.

I did a leadership development program through work a few years back and Jim was the person I used as a leader who inspired me, .

RIP Jim !

(I think I might change my prediction of the Dees position on the ladder too..... not too many things come around to inspire and motivate a club to greatness, but I think this might be a catalyst, tragic as it is)

Extremely sad, I am not a religious man but I was praying for him last night. It's a comfort to me that he went peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

You will always be an inspiration to me, you saved our club, you've helped so many kids, and you did all this with the warmest smile.

RIP Jim

Not very often you can say you're a better person for having someone in your lives that we hardly knew.

Jim - thank you for allowing us, the supporters of the Melbourne Football Club, to come along on a very special journey. From when you first arrived in Australia, the Brownlow Medal, the guts and determination shown through the consecutive games streak, the endless work with trouble youth, saving our great club, and most recently, your courageous fight, you have invited millions in to your life, and unquestionably we are all grateful for.

Deepest sympathies to Sam and the family.

Today it has been announced that Jim Stynes Passed away this morning

I am a Melbourne Supporter and have long supported Jim and My Club

The First Time I personally met Jim Stynes was the day after Melbourne lost that infamous game to Hawthorn

I was with the players the day after and spoke to Jim. At the time he was like all the other players bitterly dissapointed maybe even more so from his own perspective

But he said even then he would not let that get to him and he promised to pay back the Melbourne Football Club in full

Jim if you can hear me believe me you have done that and much more, you have been a blinding example how to fight adversity, how to battle on no matter how bad the situation may be . You have been a Role Model for many and I myself learnt from you and took sustanance From your courage

To Jims Family I offer my heartfelt sympathy and to the Melbourne Football Club and all of us as supporters. This will hurt extremly the outpouring of Grief for this man has not yet really started

All I can say is thanks Jim for the Memories you will be long remembered and sorley missed by all those that knew you

God Bless you Jim Im sure the gates are wide open and he will be there to personally greet you .

The world is truly a worse place, now that you've left.

What you have achieved in your relatively short life is nothing short of heroic, and there are no words that can do justice to the man that you were and the good that you represented.

I have no doubt that you will rest in peace, as all good men do.

My heart goes out to all of Jim's family and friends.

Talking about his passing on the radio at work, they paid him tribute by playing back interviews of him with an emotional song in the background - so hard not to shed a tear.

Thanks for all the work you've done Jimmy for this club, for REACH and for your family. A true inspiration.
