Re Maric ... Not quick enough in both mind and foot for a quality AFL small forward.

Newton's 4th law: For every supporter angry at an unjust delist there's an equal an opposite mob angry at a puzzling player retention.

Newton? What a hack. He should stop making Laws and start kicking footballs, because his time is running out - if it hasn't already.

Juice has a role to play - if we have Jamar/Martin and Clark/Watts at MFC with Gawn/Fitzpatrick and Cook/Newton at Casey - Fev and Campbell will be gone and Spencer won't be available until mid year. We'll get some injuries in that group.

Im glad there are others out there that feel the same way about Newton. If he survives I want answers. Yes I know he is a rookie but he is still clogging that spot for someone who in the future we could use. We have enough backup ruckman now and we dont need another foward. Seriously who can believe he is still with us after 7 years.

As I said last year. I never thought Id see the day that James McDonald would get shafted from the club before Juice. If Newton survives yet again then I reckon he has other issues that the club are helping him through. If he was around long enough to be a 10 year life member then that would be the biggest joke.

Mark wake up he wont help us. Get a young kid in on the rookie list.

Just playing devil's advocate for a minute... assuming we make no more rookie delistings, we will have three selections in the upcoming rookie draft. I doubt that there have been too many players selected in the fourth round or later of the rookie draft that have gone on to have stellar careers. James McDonald is the only player I know of (taken at the start of rookie fourth round) that has forged a stellar career from this low down in the pecking order. And 2011 is supposed to be a weak draft at the pointy end, let alone the rookie pool.

My point is, that while Juice may not have shown much in his seven years, the reality is we are sacrificing almost nothing by retaining him, especially if the FD see a sliver of value.

Now back to reality, it's probably a moot point as I suspect he will be delisted anyway.

Oh pleeze! I'd take my chances on a 1000:1 longshot in a heart beat rather than prolong the agony any longer. Do you realise 1 more year and Juice is eligible for free agency! Think about it.

Re Juice. Someone said it earlier, perhaps the club has forgotten he's on the list and Juice is keeping very freaking quiet.

Playing as Defence : wont get a game

Midfield : wont get a game

Ruck : Behind Jamar, Martin, Gawn, Clark (maybe spencil)

Forwards : Behind Watts, Jurrah, Clark, Dunn, Bate, Petterd, Green, Martin, Howe

I just have no idea how this bloke is on the list. None.

MFC do not have to fill all the rookie spots. I rather cut him and if no better option is available use the money on another coach rather than pay social security to Newton.

Couldn't agree more. 1000:1 shot would be vastly greater odds than Newton's. The guy is the biggest potato in the AFL.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
