Mickey Malthouse Quits Collingwood

Has been an ornament to the game. Wish him well wherever he goes/whatever he does. Anyone who thinks otherwise seriously has NFI. Track record says wherever he went they were left a better place. Not sure if he would have fit the mould at demonland or of demonland would have readjusted to fit Mick. His deputy will do just fine for us, I'm sure if mark has a question for Mick he'll be at the end of the line and will give an honest answer. Thanks for the memories Mick (even though not many are good from our end)

Eddie and Mick have made the Pies a force in the AFL.

I hope the MFC can emulate the feat.

Don't get the hatred - our coach is our coach primarily because Mick Malthouse was his mentor and is a huge wrap for him.

And our Garry Lyon trusted the word of Mick Malthouse...

Shock horror.

What?

Time to further loosen your attitude rpfc. But M&M is just a candy baby, on the outside....poor baby.

Now let's just get our facts right here...

Is M&M the best coach in the business, as he was a few weeks ago? Or is Chris Scott the best coach in the business?

Perhaps we should have 'gone after' Chris, being a premiership coach, or should we have gone after Bomber Thompson (who was 'out of control' at 3/4 time duting Essendons final - he had no idea).

You smart-arsed people, on these boards, who 'go for the best available "coach"' are full of crap.

Oh, yeah, Let's get M&M and pay him a $1,000,000 a year.

Great for footy, especially great for the MFC. I would have been devastated had this hack come to Melboune. His success was a result of his 'line' coaches, which were finally premiership quality after his 11 years at the helm. M&M did Nothing!

Neeld is one of the main reasons Collin#$*d had success. Now we have him and I am delighted. He was not a part of the Collin@#$% disintegration.

I always said M&M was not woth a sh_t.

I am delighted that Geelong won the Flag.

It's amazing how people such as yourself can watch years of AFL football but have no clue about the game!!

A good effort really.

MM has left a legacy, despite the views of a couple of blind gits who obviously wouldn't know their arse from their elbow. Aside from Footscray, every club he has touched was a basket case when he came and a powerhouse when he left. There is no arguing that FACT. I am glad we got Neeld not Malthouse, but to try and diminish his influence on, and status in the game is just foolish Filth hatred. I hate them too, but not to the point of foolishness.

Mick Malthouse had a solid coaching career and I tilt my hat to him. Can't say I like him, but I the respect the man.

As for Mick going forward, I think 2012 is a year for him to reflect. He could go the way of a David Parkin and spend the rest of his days in the football wilderness, or Mick could come back to a club in some role. You don't spend that long in footy and walk way without in skills. He still has much to teach, and plenty to offer. Although I do get the impression he may have coached his last game as a head coach in this league. Could be of great use to a GWS or GC Suns team.

Good luck to him.

Were the Bulldogs a powerhouse when Malthouse left?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
