So the question is where will he surface next year?

I doubt it will be with us now we have Neil Craig but he could be a good fit with a club that has finals aspirations like Carlton; wouldn't he like to stick it to Edie and Buckley.

On the other hand he may settle for a spot at Richmond, his old club, or at the Saints, his other old club. Maybe a role in the media for 12 months to test the waters then back in to coaching again.

Good for footy, & good for Mick. sorry e'D.

Great for footy, especially great for the MFC. I would have been devastated had this hack come to Melboune. His success was a result of his 'line' coaches, which were finally premiership quality after his 11 years at the helm. M&M did Nothing!

Neeld is one of the main reasons Collin#$*d had success. Now we have him and I am delighted. He was not a part of the Collin@#$% disintegration.

I always said M&M was not woth a sh_t.

I am delighted that Geelong won the Flag.

Any chance you could show a man who has ended his 40 year career a little respect.

If he is lost to the game I personally think the game is worse for it.

I hope he can return revitalised in some form

Couldn't agree more. Malthouse was all class until the end. hope to see gym back, but will be great in the media. Heard him on SEN sometimes, great insights. Well done Mick!

There's no need to sound so bitter.

Saying he did nothing shows how little you understand management these days.

Head Coaches these days are like Managing Directors in the business world.

It would seem one of his leading protege's Mark Neeld believs in much the same thing.

I hope you don't start slagging him off like that, when something goes wrong, or is not to your "liking" ?

No sympathy at all for Malthouse or Collingwood .

Suffer in yer Jocks you filth!

Again!

HA.

Given the number of people around here who were demanding that we do everything and then some to get Malthouse to Melbourne, some surprising reactions. For mine, I love the Dees, and after that, hard to work up much passion either way re any of the other clubs.

For Malthouse, does seem that his time is up, in the same way Thompson's was at Geelong. All change. 2012 already looks interesting - and impossible to predict.

I hope he Goes to the Saints. They're lost in the wilderness.

I can see the possibility of him ending up at Tiges, Saints or Blues.

I really hope he goes to the Saints. They desperately need straightening out, and a Major culture shift.

3 Years to fix the List, and 5 Years to fix the culture.

Not bitter, factual! And you've never managed s__t.

BangkonkDemon, one day you'll support the MFC. If you want to run after M&M, then do it. Support the filth!

No need to be abusive.

I think I've supported - as in being a paid up member for much longer than you - try 50 years.

I've been through the best (and much of the worst) and believe, we will go through the best again in the next couple of years.

As for my "knowledge" on management...I think I know what I'm talking about here too.

Right decision for all involved. It would have been easy for Mick to sit there and collect top coin in a director role, but it clearly isn't him, and he has been honest enough with himself and the club to leave.

No one can knock his record..........3 flags, and 3 other GF appearances is a fine effort.

Can't say I'm unhappy he missed out on a 4th though!

Firstly, I commend you for 50 years of paid up membership. Secondly, I think I'm in love with you for this. Thirdly, you still could not manage sh__t. Fact is, M&M is gone, and hopefully never to MFC. I'm over the moon with Neeld's appointment!.

Okay, we're friends again.

I was there in '64 - front row.

But I you should be careful what you say about my management credentials - like you, I use a pseudonym.

So, for all you know, I could be Bill Gates or Richard Branson (or an Australian/Victorian equivalent) ...Go Dees 2012 and beyond!!

Sat with some "inner sanctum" Filth supporters today. They said that, in their ideal world, with Malthouse leaving, their first pick would have been for Neeld to take over, not Buckley. They say Buckley has not won over the players.

Fairly widely rumoured around the time Neeld was appointed as well. Maybe Eddie has backed the wrong horse.

Indeed, 'Bill'. I wish I was there with you in '64, I would have been 10, but I would have come in my MFC gear.

You'd better get your MFC gear ready then.

We're in for a hell of a ride in the next few years!

Go Dees!!!

I would also be delighted if the 'Buckley' thing did not work out.

This would povide me with more posts to greive High Tower (H_T), whom is evidently a Collingwood supporter, given the crap he loads on me regarding M&M.

If the tigers dont start off too well next year the drums will start beating for M&M. Hardwick has one year left on his contract and Mick said he still feels like a tiger at heart.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
