Well done to the bloke for winning two liston trophies since we delisted him . The bloke can really play. Hard at it and kicks goals . I reckon we were hasty to delist him and think he desrves another cance on an AFL list . I know people will say we had no room for him with all our young mids coming through but he certainly gives it his all which is more than some of our blokes this year .

Heh, in 'the weakest draft ever to have existed in the history of any sport' maybe we could rookie-list Valenti and Myles Sewell as a special gift to the Scorpions, and to ensure a solid onball squad for the kids to practice around.

Good 'football values', with them, for sure. And conceivably a handy backup in a an injury crisis.

I would prefer him in the tight clinches far far ahead of the likes or Morton or Newton! At least you would know he went in 100 per cent every time.

Good VFL player. All the best.

Nutbeans Law - refrain from making big ballsy statements - they tend to bite you in the arse.

I posted prior to Shanes delisting that I saw him being our version of Sam Mitchell - yikes.

He does play the game the same way - but you are right - maybe the gap between VFL and AFL is too much for him.

Bit harsh IMO . How many games did he actually play for us ? Not many i reckon and was still young . That port melb team i reckon should get looked at closely you dont go through a season undefeated without having some quality players who could perhaps take the next step . Just a thought .

I think there would be a few clubs looking at him this year. He is exactly what we lack, being a hard as nails inside mid who can not only win clearances but can find space in tight places. I didn't agree with delisting him at the time and I think he's more than shown that it was a mistake. He might not be a superstar at AFL level, but he is a solid B grader who would fill a role for us.

Couldn't agree more. A solid hard body type who was never really given a fair go by the club.

Shane Valenti is Kevin Rudd.

No-one was saying such nice things when he played for us. It's only once he's gone that people think they really liked him all along and were mad to let him go.

How quickly we forget.

We are striving for excellence. Valenti has some excellent attributes. AFL footballer isn't one of them.

Rudd was a good poli' at thestart til he worked himself into one foot in the ground and the other in the manic room.

He nearly all but burnt out. His sacking has saved him for another day.

Sorry Taxi Tony. But your days are numbered.

Who'll give odds whether numbskull Tony A, is shot down by friendly fire, before, or just after the next election? ;)

That's the same logic that would suggest that playing football is all about what's between the ears...so let's draft Stephen Hawking.

FWIW, I want someone who has the necessary mix of skills, pace, size and nous...and goes in 100 per cent every time. Unfortunately, at AFL level, in my view Valenti has three out of five.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
