Key forward from the Adelaide Crows.

193cm 81kg and still young.

Taken pick 29 in the 2009 draft. Has shown good signs at AFL level, kicking 5 goals against Richmond this year.

What are people thoughts on trading for him? Crows have Tippett, Walker and McKernan already and we could use some tall forwards at the momement. I have faith that Cook will come through but we've seen how effective forwardlines have been this year with several tall options.

I think the Crows will be hanging on to him. Is he out of contract? Wanting out?

He was very good in the pre season this year, and is rated pretty highly. I am suprised at his height, because I thought he was more of a midfielder. He can get a bit of the ball. Would definately take him if he was available, but I would doubt it.

Apparently has said he wants a return to Victoria and is out of contract.

I just found the news on this also. link

I would definately try and nab him. Maybe give up a second round pick if that will do it.

While he's got talent he's another skinny kid and do we really need another one? Bio here:

Built like another Cale Morton IMO. If we're going after a young KPF I'd rather look at Cornelius, Dawes, Johnston or Reid.

Hawthorn seem to have a stronger hand then us when wheeling and dealing (see David Hale). If it is a money thing then we can come to the party, if it is a preference of destination I am taking Hawthorn as his next destination. The lour of playing finals footy is just too great for us to contend with.

Crap!

Hawthorn just offered slightly more in the trade for Hale.

I reckon the Hawks can have him anyway.

He's nothing special at all.

Trade Morton the Moron for Normy Gunston. Bate a possibility also. Adelaide may recieve a pick upgrade in this deal.

All for it!!!!

Wheres Rhino when you need him?

Seriously people, no more 'junk' for potential trade suggestions

Would be interested except for the fact he has basically had a major sook and buggered off back to Melbourne and left the crows in the lurch. It's done nothing for his reputation and not sure I want that kind of character at the club especially considering the Scully situation.

How about Gunston to Hawthorn, Lisle to Melbourne,Warnock and a second round pick to Adelaide?

Adelaide need a key position back after losing Bock and Davis, and if we don't trade Warnock we will lose him in the pre-season draft anyway.

I say trade for the little Aussie bleeder.....instead of listening to the trumpeter before a game, we can hear the whole Norman Tabernacle Choir!

That could be a possibility but i think more likely a straight swap between the hawks and dees: warnock to hawthorn, lisle to melbourne and possibly a pick upgrade for the hawks.

Controversial Adelaide Crows tall forward Jack Gunston has at least five Victorian clubs chasing him

http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-premiership/controversial-adelaide-crows-tall-forward-jack-gunston-has-at-least-five-victorian-clubs-chasing-him/story-

The article mentions Hawthorn and North Melbourne as being two of those five clubs chasing him. I wonder if the MFC are one of the others... looks a good prospect, but is probably in the same mould as Petterd, Howe, Cook etc. I.e. not the hulking forward we really could use now...

So I ask - would we want him? Do you think we'll be chasing him? Do we already have enough Jacks on our list?

I would prefer Norman Gunston... no doubt he would bleed red and blue

Dont need another player of his build. If he was an out and out superstar then I would be all for him to replace one of our other players, howevere I see Howe as a better player than him already and we know we already have Watts and Jurrah and then Petterd, not to mention our younger players, so a no from me.

Watched him all year, did well against lowely teams on the 3rd best backman. Pettard is more mobile, better hands, and a will be a house hold name in 2 years. Gunstan, will be fondly remembered by the croweaters here... 'who cried and went home to his mummy and daddy'. They obviously forgot about Scotty Thompson.

Not a power forward, not needed in my opinion. Would make a great Step ladder in training though for Howe!!

I don't trawl through every forum topic so I apologise if this has been mentioned several times already - but Chris Dawes is the one we should be chasing... hopefully the Neeld link will help facilitate this.

I'd suggest you start trawling - the Chris Dawes topic is rivalling the Scully threads (that's what it feels like to me anyway!).

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
