Casey Scorpions v Sandringham

KC from Casey

Isn't it funny how well a player can play when he is played in the position that he has played all his life. Morton was an elite midfielder at junior ranks, we have been trying to make him something he isn't a defensive utility.

Casey V Sandy HUN

Amazing to read the Hun report as opposed to the reports from here.

It seems as if Jurrah and Sylvia were amazing yesterday. Wow!

Youd almost wonder whether the Hun was actually there or got its info secondhand

BB everyone see's things differently.

Just look at Demonland, some think a certain player is a champion and others think the same player is a dud.

IMO Sylvia should stay at Casey another week but he will probably return.

I have wanted to play Warnock for the last month but he stays at Casey.

Just depends on your view I guess.

Soory Old..youre right of course.. It just seems far too predictable piece of fish wrap coming from the HUN..was it written Friday ?? lol

Im with you that Col ought to stay there..but doubt he will. Id happily bring in Warnock...and rest......lol.. well many could fill that in for me

Id treat maybe al lbar the WCE as "development" and trial some kids... who knows what we may unearth.

go Dees

even though he has only played one senior game back from a long term injury at Casey I would be tempted to play Fitzpatrick.

Saw him a bit last year and a couple of times before he got injured.

Shows a lot of promise but it may be 1 week early.

Stones...glass houses...it all gets a bit messy, really.

Like Rono, you might need to be reminded of your greatest hits.

Why don't you spend some time telling the kiddies about how you rated Brock Mclean as the next MFC captain because of his "competitive instinct" - remember, you said it was that part of footy that you cannot teach and that Brock had?

Or that wonderful summation of Garland being the 2nd worst footballer to wear our guernsey?

Ah, what a wonderful thing "instinct-driven" judgement is!

Listening/reading Viney's comments on the Casey game it would appear that Sylvia had a specific job and things to work on and did what was required of him. The best players are obviously those who had the biggest impact on the game but that doesn't mean Sylvia or Jurrah didn't perform to the standard Viney expected of them. He also made mention of Morton's game. I would love to see both Morton and Blease back for the Demons this week.

Jack Fitzpatrick is 200cm forward who from all accounts is on track and did well on the weekend. The West Coast defence is good but not overly tall. I think he might be worth a chance. What do we have to lose? We have not kicked a lot of goals over the past two weeks and would assist Jurrah, Silvia,( believe they should be in) Watts & Green from a bit of heavy work.

Robbie Campbell is also a big bodied unit unlikely to be fazed at all by Cox,Lynch,Nic Nat and co. With unfortunate injury to Strauss could be the time to check his value on the list and a real challenge for him personally.

Tom McDonald 194cm defender and we may need some size back there as well. Maybe worthwile to have as the sub as he can play both ends.

I wouldn't be disappointed if they all got their chance from Casey this week..

Actually it's best I clarify your misrepresentation. I never said that about Garland and while I was an advocate of McLean in 2006 I also recognised 3 years later that the game had passed him by. I was in favour of trading him.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
