it's typical so many can be so judgemental on a person and not know all the facts. i'll make a brave call and say very few on this board are privy to TS's thoughts.

don't believe everything you read in the paper, that's not to say dismiss it either.

Tom said he would make his decsion at the end of the year and looking at the current landscape that was a smart move. being part of the playing group he has knowledge you or i don't.

I don't understand your GWS reference.

Big rumours GWS are pounding the streets to get their hands on pick 4. Not sure its all over yet big boy. B)

At this moment Scully's not part of our future, he's removed himself from it and he's effectively in no-man's land. If he wants to get back on board, then fine but he needs to do it. Crook knee and all.

Right now we can be plotting and planning how to get best value from those 2 draft picks.

I hope Scully stays, I like watching him. But if he's gone, we have opportunities that we wouldn't if he stayed.

I'm sure Gary will have a personal discussion with him and find out. The answer won't be public but whether or not he plays this weekend will be a good indication IMO.

At this point skulls has not signed or agreed to anything with GWS. That's all I'm going to elaborate on it

He's technically not allowed to be signed by GWS until after the season's completed, so this makes complete sense.

Here is an ultimatum. Stop baging him or pi*s off. When did we become Essondon and start eating our own. Until he states otherwise he is a Melbourne player and I for one don't partake in this petty bull sh*t.

Emphasis on 'or agreed...'.

This, and the recent Phil Davis saga, would suggest that GWS are more than likely putting offers to players prior to season's end, at least verbally.

If so, and they have put an offer (verbally) to tom's management, then Tom is potentially putting himself, his management and GWS at risk of some sort of sanction by the AFL (or potentially even legal action from the MFC), even if he just publicly says (even just to the club in private) that he's agreed to move on, prior to season's end. He may be under instruction from his management not to say either way IF this is the case.

Not saying he's gone or going or that the above has any creedence. Just making a point as to why he might be laying low and not saying either way until season's end.

If however, you're trying to say he hasn't decided yet, then that's a different argument. If so, my one point would be, why is it taking him so long to decide? Season's almost at an end now. He must have some idea surely? I think he owes it to the club and his fellow players to give at least some indication of his intentions (without saying he's agreed to anything with GWS...yet!!), so the club can start planning for his inclusion or exclusion (start compensation negotiations with AFL etc) for next year and whether we put 'finals' experience into him (potentially) at season's end or give that experience to another rookie/player.

Everybody seems to be using the word ultimatum, this is not it, at the moment the Club is wobbling, it needs to get back on an even keel as soon as possible, if you don't want or won't be at the club next yeear then say so.....it is as simple as that......could understand at the beginning of the season the reasoning, to concentrate on footy but it hasn't helped he has played six games this season, let us move on.......I think a lot of supporters are over it now......and are generally sick of the whole thing and don't need it

Then move on.

He will decide in Sept.

We have got our own decisions to make.

He's already decided....he hasn't announced....and if you can't work out what he's decided cast your mind back over this week.

The real issue for MFC right now is that what Scully does is now the least of our problems....and that stinks. What remaining credibility we have could be p155ed up against a wall over the next month

i don't give a [censored] what he appreciates, I follow the club not him and if he doesn't want to be a pat of it then so be it. We need to be able to plan what we are doing at seasons end and if we can do some deals with the potential draft selections we will get then let's do it.

This has been a drain on our club for most of the season and the fact we made public our offer to him has made the situation even worse. How can we push the club in the press when they are only interested in one thing?

I never run away from a problem, I face it, but I guess you choose a different path.

HEAR! HEAR!

This is beyond a joke now. Either get on board or get the f#^% out of the way.

Isn't the White Maggot a satire site like The Onion? I hope not, because otherwise you're proposing that the work of comedians is evidence. Anyway...

If however, you're trying to say he hasn't decided yet, then that's a different argument.

I'm not trying to say anything; just clarifying the post you quoted, since you seemed to overlook some key words when making your reply.

However, I'll bite anyway.

He doesn't owe it to the Club and fellow players to make a decision before the end of the season, just like the Clubs don't 'owe it' to their players to tell them before the end of the season that they're getting delisted etc. It works both ways.

I hate this topic. Players sign for the period of their contract. In this case, Tom Scully has signed to play for us until October 31st 2011. Until this time it is expected that Tom Scully does his all for the club in a professional manner. Regardless of whether Tom stays with us after this date is irrelevant right now. If Tom were to not give his all then questions would be asked, however there is no way that this would be the case. Get over it and move on.

He's a smart kid fair chance he knows what he's doing already.

I suspect he's know what he is doing for some time, waiting for end of season he, frankly, bs, much the same as the AFL insistence that Davis hasn't committed

I'm sure he knows exactly which way he is leaning, but very much doubt he has conclusively made up his mind at this stage.

Why on earth would he commit or make up his mind before he has to?

The smart option, is to do like he has said and wait til the end of the season to make a decision.

I seriously don't understand why it's so hard for some Internet heroes to believe.

I live in dream land ... did you read what you wrote. Santa Claus only comes once a year ... but superman would struggle to get the job done with the "tools" on hand ... hope you got deep, deep, deep pockets.

Ohhhhhh ... but thats right you haven't ... B)

Good luck in Darwin or Queensland.

PS I heard Junction oval is still vacant, the possum $hit is a powerful motivation tool, that should motivate your new staff.

I'm going to return to not reading your posts. You somehow manage to make less than no sense.

Yeah that because you got no clue about the cryptic clues ... because you really know nothing about our club.

Finally I now understand why half you blokes have no idea what I'm saying.

Thanks

[He's gone gone gone. If he wasn't this time last week then the shambles exposed in the past six days gives him all the reason he needs.

Dodgy knee and all.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
