Scullys been going from day dot, the day millions of dollars were dangled in front of his big head.

Since then he and his management have made out like hes some football oracle who is morally bound and that the MFC dont meet his requirements. Its all spin. In the mean time the club has suffered dramatically. Good riddence young Scully, take your dicky knee with you.

Going, Going, ????!

Its frustrating to see so many people already believe all the stuff media has given us and believe tom scully made his decision. Personally i believe Tom Scully going to shock the AFL world and announce a new contract extension with the dees.

Why do i believe that

* First, every person that talked about Tom scully told us he is a remarkable young man who is close to family and gives his all to melbourne demons, a person like that wouldn't have made a decision without telling demons what his decision is ( right now there are no reason Tom Scully wouldn't have told demons his decesion that he is going to gws and demons wouldn't have playing him right now

* Secondly i don't think he would have made a decision like that just when money was offered to him i think he would have want to know who's going to coach demons next season and what is the best place for him to win a premiership sooner rather than later. ( what if Mick malthouse is coaching demons next season you think Tom Scully wouldn't have wait till end of the season to find out who's going to coach demons.

* Thirdly every time i hear Tom Scully or his managers talk ( apparently Alastair Lynch and peter Bluch both are his managers) the more i figured that Tom Scully want to stay a demon.(for example his manager told that Tom Scully didn't even want to know about gws offer why? it's up to us to assume why?)

lets say that was a lie that mean Journalists were telling the truth and Tom Scully and his side was lying, so why would i assume that when i already know which side has more credibility)

*last but not least do you think Journos didn't notice what tom scully and his managers said yes they did? but they don't want to change their opinion no matter what( for example i don't think mike Shehan wont to believe scully after the press conference only because he didn't want to concede that he is wrong)

So people don't come into conclusion right now, just be patient and wait till the end of the season.. I believe Tom Scully going to made a decesion that best for him and the club.

Am I one of a few that believes Schwab is worth more than Scully?

I mean, are people REALLY being critical of Schwab for spending big cash on high-priced executives with high credentials?

Bay 13 has a knack of calling Melbourne a socialist club, but I never really believed. Seems to be the case. Damned if you, damned if you don't.

End of the day, Melbourne had no brand a $2.3 million debt with no assets in 2008. How times have changed.

Scully can [censored] of if that's the case. I have confident in the club's business administration.

However, I am critical of the culture instilled at the club, and I believe this has more to do with player management at the club, as well as those people influential with what happens onfield.

Scully is replaceable. People that can turn a brand from nothing to something aren't.

Especially when we're getting Jack Viney on top of those draft picks if Scully goes and our salary cap is saved :)

The campaign by the Scully camp to not have the their client tarred with the 'mercenary' brush has begun in earnest.

It's got nothing to do with the sack of cash ... it was Schwabby! lol

The Ministruy of Truth is in full swing !!!:)

Last time I checked Dale Thomas had still not signed... maybe he is demanding Eddie be sacked first?

Every time Dale Thomas is brought into the GWS debate Eddie immediately turns the topic back onto Scully. Maybe Thomas will stay, maybe he won't, but I reckon he's got more to gain than Scully. Thomas has already won a premiership so even if he going to GWS is means he doesn't get to do it again, he's already been there. Scully would have to be weighing up premiership chances as a big draw card to either club.

On topic, IF this was the case I would simply say to Tom that his job is to play footy not decide who is in admin positions. If this really was the be final tipping point, and the club was happy with Schwab, then I choose Cam over Tom. Purely because he is not in a position to make those kinds of demands/requests. Perhaps a different situation if we were thinking of giving him the flick anyway.

All that's hypothetical, and I kind of feel this is one of the more far fetched claims re: Scully.

Thomas has far more value than Scully from a marketing perspective also, given a choice between the two I would think that GWS would definitely take Thomas over Scully.

If Thomas is weighing up his options maybe there will not be quite so much money left for Tom as first expected...

The article is a load of BS really.

The issue with CS was he wanted Bailey out and so did Connolly. They want to get rid of him but the board and players wanted him to stay. After Saturday the Board had decided that CS was right with regards to Bailey and his coaching so he was gone. Not sure about CS ever being not re-signed but thats what I have heard. Nothing to do with Scully are other garbage just that they didn't see Bailey as the future coach.

I don't know what's fact and what's fiction, but I know that Scully:

1. is clearly stringing out his negotiation to the detriment of the club

Fair enough; as long as you apply this to every other player who holds out on re-signing until the end of the season.

Furthermore, it'd be charitable to apply it to the Club when they refuse to re-sign a player until the end of the season (or beyond).

I posted elsewhere how the journo's and Paul O'Connor looking rather silly in suggesting that Taylor Walker had already signed with GWS when in fact, with Davis going - this cannot be the truth.

Jon Ralph tweeted last night - " Just a thought: Taylor Walker was the first certainty to go to the expansion club who didnt go. So is there a chance Scully hasnt made up his mind ?"

I couldnt resist - I tweeted back - "Scully hasnt made up his mind ? Who knows. It does prove that Journo's continually write rumours and pass them off as facts"

I am now torn between "don't believe everything you read" and "dont believe anything you read"

Regardless of whether you believe any particular article or not, the weight of opinion and the club's reaction suggests that there are internal conflicts between different factions of the club. What would be most disturbing is if the rumours of discord within the playing group (let alone between the playing group and administration) are correct. Several journalists have suggested that there is conflict both within the leadership group (and I can understand that- I'd be p*ssed off if Brad Green was my captain too) and between the young players and senior players, who are 'reportedly' given too loose a leash and are allowed to run wild off-field.

It appears that the problem before Saturday's game was that the players liked the board and vice versa, but that neither the players or the board liked the administration. Now that the board has, I suppose reluctantly, spared the administration (i.e. Schwab and Connolly) surely that is now the cause of same anguish between the players and the board, or the two factions of the club that were previously thought to be 'on the same page'.

This is all unproven, but it's the scenario that I gather from what has been reported so far. If true, whichever way you look at it, it's a disturbing picture.

The most disturbing thing IMO is that we have a playing group who consider it acceptable to not turn up and play because of a few off field issues they really have no control over.

What does that tell you about their sense of pride in their performance and their the level of self respect????

That's disturbing!

The management of the Tom Scully situation is destroying this club.

Cam Schwab should be fired.

1. Borrowed 100K through the club (hmm, that's ethical)

2. Promised $1m to Scully ([censored] off every other player on our list and way above the odds)

3. Hired Todd Viney while our senior coach was on holiday - can't keep himself out of the FD.

Not good enough.

Jimmy's nearly at the end of his fight; if everyone put in like him we would have a brilliant footy club.

What a completely miserable disaster.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
