Who do you see in civvy's ?

I ran into Jordie McKenzie at a supermarket in Caulfield last night.

Had a quick chat to him.

Told him he has been fantastic this year which he was happy to hear.

We chatted about media and supporter sites - the club tells them they are better off not reading the papers. I told him if he has any confidence or self esteem issues do NOT read Demonland or Demonology and he had a good laugh at that.

I followed up after commenting about the sometimes cruel nature of the supporter sites that there is a huge amount of manlove for him on both 'land and 'ology - that was when he looked at me a wee bit oddly ! ( oh well)

Who do you see on regular basis in civvy's ?

Noone really. Used to run into Neita a fair bit, but not anymore.

I was standing on the train near him going home from the G about 4-5 weeks ago and as he was getting off the train I let go with a "GO NEEIITAAA" at which he smiled.

There were two women sitting with their Melbourne scarves near me and I heard one say to the other after I made a dick of myself by yelling "I thought I recognised him - that was Kevin Neita"

Close but no cigar !

I saw Steven Armstrong at BP the other day....

Used to see Jeff Farmer at the casino a fair bit too!

I used to see Cameron Bruce a lot in trackies, does that count?

I see Scully at a cafe in Blacktown a lot recently.

did you really have to go there?

I see Scully at a cafe in Blacktown a lot recently.

There's enough pessimism around the Scully issue.

Apparently Robbo goes to the accountants two doors up from my place. I've walked past Brian Lake coming out of there.

Eth, I'm gald you didn't count looking through Ricky Petterd's window as seeing him in his civvy's!

I've seen a number of the younger female Home & Away actresses in their civvy's. It was just a pity that the only time they saw me was when they were slapping an AVO on me. What is stalking anyway? I prefer to call it looking from afar.

Trust me, there's only one player that I know what suburb they live in, and it isn't Ricky.

90% sure I walked past Robert Walls in the CBD two weeks back as well. I was tempted to ask how many votes Judd and Murphy would tie on for the Brownlow :)

Morton Russian and Wheats used to get their lunch from the Bakery just down the road from my office in Bentleigh; Russian used to do a screaming U Turn and tear off down centre Road back to towards Nepean H'way afterwards. If you want to see footballers just head on down to Church Street in Brighton, there's usually a heap of them at the Cafes Lloyd's a regular at the Pantry so are plenty of others depending on the time of year.

I go to re-creation armadale gym. Now it's owned by goodlife. Since the take over, i've seen John Meesen several times, so too James McDonald (not surprised he wasn't that big over his career, his form isn't too spectacular. Actually surprised he didn't injure himself more during his career). I've seen Sam Blease workout there too, Chris Tarrant was there a few times over summer (his arms are absolutely massive, even more so in real life).

On a side note, Emma Freedman was there during the SRC. Absolutely gorgeous, but geeze she can talk.

I couldn't believe my luck when i saw about 22 MFC players all at once at the MCG. Was a special day for sure!!!

Saw Neita and Paul Wheatley out on the town earlier this year.

I've seen Jake Spencer at chaddy and one day over summer saw Juice, Max Gawn and Stefan Martin all at Chadstone, some big lads. Come to think of it I've seen Jamar at chaddy as well. Also saw Byron Pickett there when he was playing for us.

Saw Tom McNamara and Kel Lawrence leaving when I was walking past AAMI park one day.

Oh and I saw Scully out for a walk with his sister earlier in the year.

Forgot to mention about the place two doors up - Scott West's brother co-runs it. (That's a guess - I'm not entirely sure on his position in the company but it's West and Williams so I'd assume he's a top figure.)

Dunno if that counts.

Saw Col Garland at my local supermarket with his mum and brother. He was joking around about toilet paper. His mum pipes up and tells the checkout chick that she only needs to buy heaps when Colin visits. Had the whole isle laughing. Seemed like a lovely family.

I once saw Carl Steinfort moping around Chadstone. The next day he got delisted so that explained his hangdog expression.

Wait, did this have to be MFC and recent?

Jim Stynes used to run past my house regularly back in the 90s. As a kid I used to be able to see his head bobbing up and down as he ran past our (tall) fence.

I often see Sylvia on Chapel Street Prahran , South Yarra , and Toorak (in daylight hours )

See Sylvia a fair bit around the South Yarra and Toorak areas, and not to mention a large amount of the boys at Chaddy.

Juice, Jamar, Strauss and Cheney (even though he's gone) always seem to be there. Also see Strauss driving around the Camberwell/Surrey Hills areas a lot.

Funny storry about Juice, have seen him in Edge a fair few times, and my mate I couldn't help but pissing ourselves laughing when he asked one of the girls there "What are you girls doing for new years?" The fella may be a dud, but he has provided my mates and myself with HOURS of laughter over that one.

I saw Paul Johnson at Chaddy watching a chick flick with his missus one evening a few months back.

He didn't look happy about it.

Was in the same train carriage as Jordan Gysberts coming home from the St kilda game last year. It was just after those 2 awesome debut games and I wanted congratulate him but wasn't 100% sure it was him. (but I knew deep down it was as he was wearing the Mfc suit)

North game this year- parked in city car park 25 mins before game. Blease (driving) and Scully pull up at the same time and park next to me. I left game just before final siren, arrive at car, Scully and Blease's car gone... Did they have something better to do than stay till end of game?

Morton Russian and Wheats used to get their lunch from the Bakery just down the road from my office in Bentleigh; Russian used to do a screaming U Turn and tear off down centre Road back to towards Nepean H'way afterwards. Bloody Mark Jamar loved speeding down Centre Rd back when he used to live in the area with his ute. He almost ran me over/ smashed into me about a dozen times.

Back then he was also a massive dud, so I used to get seriously shitty with him. Now he can run me over if he so wishes because he's a gun B)

I see Jordie McKenzie at the regular pub I go to in Brunswick. He is a massive nerd, but completely adorable. I'm pretty sure I made him blush a bit. Poor child.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
