One thing I'm dreading tonight.....

Just heard on TEN News that Robbo will play Travolta in a duet with her. And fair go btw, she's a pop icon of Australia who's performing at our home game despite being a Carlton fan and is trying to promote a very important charity, and who knows it could even bring a few extra people through the gate.

Personally i think it's a big tick for us.

I thought this thread was going to be about Brock performing well...

but obviously we don't really have to worry about that.

Is the pre game "entertainment"

Dear god I know it will be awful.

WHY O WHY do they do this to us, who the hell actually comes up with these ideas?

Why the demon did we host Olivia Neutron Bomb at our home game? She does a press conference with Big JS and bats her eyelids and talks about the partnership with the club blah blah blah.......and then turns aup for an interview at half time with her Carlton scarf on. If she's such a huge Carlton fan then let them host the chick.

I feel so used :(

There was nothing wrong with having Olivia Newton John as pre match entertainemnt. She is an australian icon and cancer survivor who was happy to do this for us. It deosnt matter that she wasa carlton supporter. That wasnt the point of the night. The point was to raise money for her brilliant cancer centre that she has created to make people feel a little bit better who are going through treatment. Her centre offers the relaxation side of things such as massage, yoga and meditation.

Jim as we all know uses alternative therapies to help him with his battle so of course he would want to help this centre. He probably also thought that it might get more people to our home game. The crowd seemed to enjoy it. What gave me a lift was seeing Jim come out on the stage. Dont care he couldnt sing but 3 days ago this man was in surgery having more brain tumours removed. Its a shame his spirit and courage doesnt rub off on the players.

On another thing though have we hired Robbo as a match day person or something. The last few home games he has bobbed up for 1/2 time interviews and gets his head on the screen. Also thank god we have got rid of that flag raising crap. Well done to people who complained enough to make the club realise this looks stupid.

I agree that the cause is well worth while, Australian icon and all that. It was also great to see big Jim up there but I just felt as though she took a bit away from it with her 'I'm a Carlton supporter' rubbish.

C'mon now, she did the whole 'it's great that the MFC has joined with me for this' and then she openly states her committment to our opposition on the night.

Not bagging the cause, just questioning the logistics of it.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
