6-Moloney

5-Trengove

4-Jones (to me, he's always consistent and hard at it. We'd be a lot weaker without him in the side.)

3-Petterd (can't believe it took him this long to get a game after round 2. he better be in the side from here on out.)

2-Watts (look out,he'll be something. He's gaining confidence every week).

1. Maric (showed he deserves a few more games at the top level before he's written off)

Honourable mention: Bail (quickly becoming my favourite player), Warnock (him missing games earlier in the year shows we have good depth in the back line), Green (finally getting back into form).

6. Moloney

5. Trengove

4. Petterd

3. Bail

2. Jones

1, Maric

Each to their own, but surely Sylvia gets a vote, 26 disposals and 4 goals

Mine would be

6. Moloney - immense, and a ridiculous number of clearances

5. Sylvia - 4 goals and 26 disposals, just what he is capable of

4. Trengove - going under the radar a bit this year and has been very good lately

3. Petterd - how he has not been in the last few weeks is beyond me, the perfect candidate to play the defensive forward role, Johncock didnt know what hit him

2. Jones - is having a good year and played to his strengths today, definitely has a role when he does this

1. Maric - worked hard and got a lot of it, just a little more polish in the forward 50 to give him a couple of goals and he would of been higher

Honourable mentions to:

Frawley: hopefully a sign that he is getting back to last years form

Bail: he is the prototype run with player in modern footy, loving what he does at the moment

Davey: thought he worked well and his use of ball was excellent today

Almost everyone else out there: 4 qtr performance, and besides Bate, could make a case for everyone else out there, lets hope to see some consistency over the next few weeks

6 Moloney

5 Jones ( has been our 2nd best player so far this season, people need to open thier eyes and watch the game)

4 Sylvia

3 Petterd

2 Jamar

1 Davey

Apologies to Trengove, Gysberts, Green, Bail, Maric, Frawley, Tapscott and several others.

Watts can step it up further, can get involved more. Promising signs, hate to harp on it but is now watching the footy into his hands when taking a jump and is losing his hyper awareness of what is around him. Really promising signs.

6 - Moloney (another three Brownlow votes I reckon, possibly 12 after 7 rounds)

5 - Trengove

4 - Petterd

3 - Jones

2 - Garland

1 - Davey

Bate (and Grimes, of course) aside, you could mount a case for basically all our players, which is a great sign.

Strongly agree with forest85 today! Trengove was tremendous, seven tackles and plenty more body work too.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
