What happens if we start 0-4 or 0-5

I'm remembering back to 1992 and the North Melbourne team of that year under Wayne Schimmelbusch. He won 7 and lost 15 with a team full of talent.

Schimma was replaced the following year as coach by Denis Pagan and they won 13 games! And (as they say) the rest is history!

It's year four of the great re-build and I want results! No! Not a premiership or a top four finish but 10 or more wins at least.

I'm with Dee Dee. 10 wins+ in 2011 and I'm a happy demonite. Not fussed when - although going by the draw we should get a few wins early.

I think it was the players who got together at Geelong that year and said "enough is enough, we've got the talent so let's prove it".

I would love something similar to happen at Melbourne (albeit without the 0-5 start) however history doesn't repeat itself too often.

Personally I reckon the natives will be restless should we start 0-5.

Doesn't that demonstrate that sometimes the coach can be doing everything right, but you have to wait for something in the players to 'click' before they truly find form?

There's no secret formula, but it's easy to blame the coach without looking at other factors that influence form.

If only he had told the players to win the game instead of saying to win the quarter at each interval!

rpfc to be honest I don't listen to him all that much any more.

I try to let the results speak for themselves.

Unfortunately for me he just does not excite me.

He may be just what the team needs ( not sure how you tell from the outer )

However I am profoundly unexcited by Bailey.

well its not quite the same thing, i mean we have had more than our fair share of games where we were the better side for 3 quarters and totally lost the plot on the other, and lost. It used to be the first quarter was our favourite for doing this. I think it's mental weakness, something that haunts us as a club. Haven't enjoyed seeing it in the last 3 practice matches

That does not seem to happen very often at the MFC.

The gibe I get from opposition supporters is we are "front runners".

A lot of the time it is hard to counter that theory.

sadly in agreement

not being switched on at the opening bounce, getting 4-5 goals down and needing a bake at 1qt, catchup footy all day

or

game is tight until half or 3qt, the enemy comes out fired up and takes it up a notch, we turn to water
