No official injury report update MFC

Why is it that there hasn't been an official injury report update from the club on their website? 18 days since the last report and two NAB cup games in between. Very unusual. Anything to hide or just slackness?

I'm pretty sure it means Scully is gone.

I'm quite pleased to see Frawley is only 4 away. That'd mean a Round 2 return? Sad about Campbell, however

I'd question the accuracy of that - he is listed as having a shoulder injury, when everyone knows it is his pectoral muscle.

He's fit when I see him on the park, and until then I couldn't care less about these token lists...

I'm not sure what an official injury list means but the afl.com.au site usually publishes an injury list for all clubs every Tuesday.

Such lists aren't usually accurate but sometimes the players listed are actually injured. :)

and sometimes those not listed are actually injured, but then again some aren't. And sometimes some players are not listed as injured but don't appear listed anywhere as being uninjured and as such able to play for the firsts, seconds or thirds.

Biggest worry there is McKenzie ... has the look of something that could drag on and on ... and on. We need him, especially with Junior gone.

We have some great young players coming into the midfield, but with McKenzie, Blease, Gysberts (and Scully) still not playing, it's looking fairly thin at the moment.

Good opportunity for the likes of Jetta - if he can take it.

As for some of the other comments here re the injury list in general, there's a difference between 'injured' and 'not fit'. Wonna (for example) isn't on the injury list, but isn't ready to play yet. Presumably, same goes for the likes of Tapscott and Gysberts, both of whom are coming off injuries.

A lot of everday punters are not up with the proper names of muscles &/or bones. Many wouldn't know what a pec' is.

But it does effect, in a major way, the use of the shoulder & arm associated. So it could be an easy explanation to loosely describe the issue.

Hahaha you are kidding, aren't you?

Who the hell doesn't know what a pec is?

Or at the very least what a pectoral muscle is?

I refuse to accept that they assume people are that ignorant.

Hamstring injuries can (do) affect your back.

They still list it as a hamstring, rather than a back injury.

You're clutching at straws.

Here is a big prediction Folks

"Campbell will not play a game for the demons at AFL level!"

Reason: big guys with poor injury records do not get over serious Achilles problems easily.

I have the feeling our gamble with him we be a flop.

Probably not a big loss however dissapointing he may not get on the park.

How long is one usually out with osteitis pubis for? I remember Rivers had it, but I can't recall how long we missed him.

It varies. Remember Moloney's OP?? He was out for ages - played 18 games over three years!!!

It can be quite a hampering injury but, if treated early, can be overcome more quickly.

Fingers crossed for Jordie!!

I was at a MFc get together recently and was asked by a footy follower, what the patella was. I know plenty of people, usually of the older generations, that have No Idea about medical names of the body.

You need to get out amongst a wider circle of the population. there are many who aren't so obseesive about their passion as your good self. It may help you to understand those people a lilttle more.

Other than that, the MFC may not have wanted to be more explicit.

Really is cyclone abbott in a thymbol. Isn't it.

What does the thing that makes an aeroplane go have to do with footy?

Didn't Stephen Powell miss heaps of games with this injury? Never the same when he returned.

The medical secretary who works for my orthopedic surgeon made an appointment for me with another specialist, for my "shoulder". When I said to her it was for my knee, she said "well why does your file say patella?". Words don't do justice to how much stupidity exists in this world

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
