Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere but according to the link below from Kevin Sheehan the all time running vertical jump record from the national draft camp is 102cm by Nick Natanui and Jarrad Brennan. I think this is the same height Melbourne new recruit Jeremy Howe jumped in the Tasmanian state screenings this year.

It is also interesting to see that Jack Watts holds the all time third fastest time for the 20 metre sprint and Jack Fitzpatrick the all time fourth fastest time for repeat sprints. Impressive.

Would love to see LJ's leap measured.

Was Scully ever tested? Expected to see his name in the endurance records.

I don't think Scully was tested, injured at the time I think.

Tom wrote the book on endurance. Your boy's going to get a brownlow with us, bookmark that.

Scully had surgery and didn't test at the Draft Camp.

If he did, his beep test record would've stood for at least a couple of decades.

Yeah, the first chapter "left foot before first" is where it all starts. Bookmarked the start of the second chapter "Need some ticker"

Tom did a 15.x beep in a routine testing session long before the camp, he was still going but they pulled him up basically on a 'yeah, that'll do, let the other kids have a go' call.

Plus he's pretty good at football.

Yeah i heard he reached 15.9 or something and was asked to stop. Ridiculous.

Jack Trengove also got 15.4 in his beep test, while Scully was 15.8.

I prefer the rumour the tape had finished and Sculls was still going...

I remember reading one of the coaches saying that they decided to stop him so he could "dream about how far he could have gone." (paraphrasing)

The idea was that the sky was the limit.

I kinda get the mindset, but it's very hard to put into words.

Yeah, I understand. So perhaps he could hold the thought of "not yet broken through the pain barrier"...that he could still be pushed further.

Exactly, and had he have finished on the very next level he might have that in his mind as his ceiling.

Why aim to break 15.10 when you could be aiming to break 16.5 ?

If he spiked his hair he would be a dead ringer for Sonic the Hedgehog.

a fact overlooked by many who discuss vertical leaps and beep tests and what nots.. it's a sport called footy, it's not little aths

This kid has a body that is ready to go

Lets hope his mind is ready to go .

I heard he got so far it started going backwards

I heard he got so far it started going backwards

I heard the tape melted and overheated from being played for too long

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
