I had a dream the Dee's took Jed Lamb at Pick 12. Snuffed out the Hawks!

12. Billie Smedts (if Smedts is gone. Watson wouldn't be a surprise!)

I wouldn't have the foggiest idea on our remaining picks. Possibly Callum Sinclair unless we decide too rookie list him. Remaining picks would most likely be 190cm+ players.

I think we will get a very good player at Pick 12 either way.

btw 33 a pass at 53. That infers a PSd pick... whom ? as part of your foretelling that is :)

12. Heppell

33. Darling

50. Fitzgerald

53. Pass

I feel that the club likes using the pre season draft pick. It gives them an extra few weeks to assess who is left and pull out a smokey or sorts. Whether it is a Stefan Martin or Liam Jurrah who knows but it seems to be their way.

Every single year BP reads out a name that surprises the hell out of us armchair experts. With that in mind:

12. Brodie Smith

33. Cameron Guthrie

50. Ben Brown

53. Jordan Shroder

If I get 2 out of 4 I'm considering it a win.

Honestly don't think Mitchell will be available at 33. We might take him at 12 which will surprise.

This is really hard this year. So many players might slide to pick 12 that we would take.

Too bloody hard so many quality players even out too the 3rd and 4th rounds there will be some suprises no doubt as it all depends which way the gc go! I'm pretty pumped will be watching tonight and in my very bias opinion pick 12 is the most interesting as the fd could be very surprised on players they would bank on going earlier so my guess is they will have half a dozen players of genuine interest. For what it's worth I really want jack darling but as someone else posted if he slipped to 33 hell yes I will be happy

I think we will end up with 2, possibly 3 of these guys. I would still love to get Jack Darling though, but i dont think the Dees are interested in him at all.

12. Dyson Heppell or Ben Jacobs

33. Luke Mitchell or Lucas Cook

12. Tom Lynch. ( Jack Darling if Lynch gone)

33. Josh Walker

I dont really have any idea, but I do hope Lynch gets through to us.

I dont think we will take Heppell.

Go Dee's!!

Here's mine from the Draft Pick thread a month or so ago. Updated.

Still not bad HT.

I'd be happy with that, providing 53 was a KPP.

Lynch would be better than Brodie Smith too.

My dream draft:

33 - Jacobs

53 - Troy Davis

Heppell and Jacobs sound like they play similar roles - hard to see how this would be a dream outcome. All things being equal with us selecting the best player particularly at early picks a dream outcome would be to solve as many holes in the list as possible. I agree that the role they play is a need so one would be great but there's other needs like a fwd/ruck, small defensive back and outside midfield line-breaker.

No doubt. My basis for Lynch is GC already have Dixon and Fraser and will have Day in their back pocket as well. Plus perhaps Gorringe. Anyway I have Smith as my second option - mid/half back.

I've gone with best available.

Mitchell covers needs in terms of forwards.

I think there's room in the side for both Heppell & Jacobs, even though they are similar types.

I think it shows how little I rate the KPP around 33.

Any taken there have just as much chance of coming good as one taken at 50.

Possibly switch Jacobs with Guthrie and you have your small defender.

I just really like Jacobs and it's like I said in a thread last year:

"it's a shame scully and trengove are both so good, because it means there's no chance we'll pick Dustin Martin"

Now look at him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
