Well I sit in the Olympic Stand & thats almost sold out.

So do I on level 2. The bar that is located directly behind me should be pumping with Melbourne supporters next year. I still think we need to move the premium members from the Hassett room to the Jim Stynes room

I'll admit to being one of those who haven't signed up for 2011. Will do so on either Monday or Tuesday of next week.

That delay has mostly been due to waiting on the outcome of a post-grad scholarship application (I got it) which would allow me to buy a more expensive pack but also partly due to the thoroughly depressing experiences I've had recently with the membership department. Every time I've spoken to someone at other parts of the club they've been fantastic - super enthusiastic, helpful, first-rate. Every time I've spoken to the membership division I get what seems to be a bored teenage girl who doesn't appear to give two hoots about the club and would rather I didn't ask any questions so she can go back to her Myspace and Twitter. That frustration was compounded when I had to call Richmond, Collingwood and Geelong to buy memberships for family members and found that their people were as super enthusiastic and helpful as everyone I've dealt with at MFC apart from the membership division.

Also, that lousy experience will make people far less inclined to upgrade (from 3-game to 11-game; from general admission to reserved, etc) or add on something extra that will ultimately help the club.

Of course I'm going to buy a membership but it just cheesed me off. Rant over; big year for Nathan Jones in 2011.

I'm always distracted... that's why I set up membership for auto-payment each year; and they still sms or email you to give you the chance to opt out if necessary.

We should remind ourselves that buying from the Demon Shop is just as good as buying a membership.

Brunton Ave, under the G.

A really awful place for retail but there you go.

It is terrible isn't it. Even Schwab commented on it at a particularly dreary members info night, i think it was before season 09 when he told us all how much poo we were in at the time

Thanks for the correction. Interesting that the stars on the back of the stock from China are the wrong colour (-orange). The new stock in March will apparently have the correct colour (yellow or gold). Minor hiccup IMO. The staff are disappointed, but that's China I guess (or communication error). Still, I purchased my young son's first jumper (no.31 on the back). Still looks great.

Staff are very helpful and considerate. They've been flat out. Getting to the store - park elsewhere and walk there is the best option.

It's a real shame the Demon Shop isn't at the Melbourne Town Hall, Brunton Ave is just dead set dangerous to stop on during weekdays.

I hope at some stage the shop is moved...

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
