Billy, you're wrong about

Wallace was a very good player

His legal action has nothing to do with playing ability

Grinter was a good footballer (not great) but at times played like a thug

Billy you're right about

Rhino is a smatarzz

Rhino is an abusive poster

Cheers

I didn't say his playing ability wasn't of a high standard, I just lost respect for him as a player after the incident. I know that's harsh, but that's how my twisted mind works sometimes! Hang me for it!

Grinter was tough and brutal, I still can't use his name in the Thug category. Maybe I'm a bit biased.

Why is his old man an idiot? Sounds like he might get an improved offer from Collingwood out of all this. That sounds like he's done the right thing by his 'client', doesn't it?

Why is his old man an idiot? . . .

Isn't having played for both the Filth and the Ferals enough proof for you?

Whether he gets a better deal or not, most people will still consider him an idiot, he has a long list of priors

Posted

Well if he gets his lad more money , longer contract and a better level of dealings then he's not such an idiot. The filth have shown themselves very shrewd and adept , for the most part, so any besting of them is no mean feat !! Hardly idiotic ?

Cloke senior is a dunce and the Pies know it. He's all huff and puff and will drag negotiations through the media to wind it up but in the end he'll settle for a 2 year deal, a set of steak knives and a bullet proof vest.

Notice he waited until there was 2 hours of trade week left to drop the bombshell? Hardly enough time for a club to formulate a sizeable offer that would make Collingwood stand up and take notice.

Honestly, I would consider taking Cloak.

Why?

I don't understand why people get fixated on someones ability thinking its the be all and end all, and sport players are incapable of improving.

All the people posting here right know who are saying "HE CANT KICK, HE IS A DUD BLA BLA", a couple of years ago if Lynden Dunn was playing for another team, and Melbourne were looking at recruiting him, you would be saying the exact same thing about Dunn like you are for Cloak. Now look at Dunn.

exactly.

We are missing that big bodied Key position forward line player to create a contest, bring the ball to ground and let our crumbing forwards finish it off.

Cloak has proven he can hold his own, he can create a contest, take a great mark - Why not consider?

Dunn has improved out of sight, obviously at the Melbourne FD we have shown him a thing or two, why can't we do the same with Cloak?

At 23 years of age, don't tell me he does not have the years to improve.

Collingwood has been dragging it's feet re Cloke for a while ( 3 months according to some media) They have history of buggering him around hence the acrinomy. Cloke will easily get 3 years if enters the draft. It mightn't look clever or astute of the Clokes but he'll better his current offer from the filth whether with them or elsewhere. Sellers market

I hope he gets back to Richmond where in a poetic justice sense, the balance would be restored.

I have a great distaste of the white anting that went on back in those days of brown paper bags and the league dominated by a select few. The father son should remain strong for the good of the culture of our game.

wonder why that is? inability to kick is an issue. need to draft a forward with the attitude of Neita.

Imagine if David Neitz was 25 right now!! He must look at our up coming side and just think "Yeah" wouldn't he just love to be back out there..... B)

Nieta would kick the Ton with the current midfield (sorry i was dreaming!!)

Maybe the thought of playing for the Tigers was just a step toooooooo far for even the Clokes.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
