I look forward to beating the Filth in the years to cpme...that's all i can say right now, except that St. Kilda's window is shut for the next 20 years, and their treatment of Luke Ball was atrocious. With him they may have won the cup. But Ross knows best. B)

Speaking as someone who's seen a lot of St. Kilda over the last few years (fiance's a massive Saints fan) I reckon your not far wrong. Next year will be their last role of the dice IMO before their window slams shut for some years.

I reckon they'll do some big trading this period in order to try and pinch one in 2011. I hope we have a say in denying them!

I have only lived for 60 years...

but I reckon the teams we should hate (in order) are:

pies (the filth)

(daylight)

dons (the scum)

hawks (the censored)

(daylight)

any others you can think of...

in 1958, the pies (with an inferior team) prevented us from equalling their record of four premierships in a row, with dirty tactics (play-the-man-not-the-ball) invented by them on that 1958 day in september...

I'm comforted by the fact that they can hardly beat us and that Aaron Davey is clearly the world's greatest player due to his 6 votes.

Also by the fact that the Saints are scum and if anybody had to hand the Pies a flag I'm glad it was them.

Lock all your doors.

Bar all your windows.

Bring the pets inside.

There's a start.

Sometimes, and it is only on the odd occaision, there is an advantage in being a Canberra resident. Firstly, because we lack prison facilities and outsource them to NSW we lack Wobble people. Secondly the bogonism that typlifies the breed is spread over three, possibly fout codes so we don't have the dense concentration you have in Melbourne. Finally i suspect that aerial crop dusting keeps the population in check.

And even!

We have proven we can take them to the edge.

2011 is the year we beat them. TWICE!

No mate next year we beat 3 or 4 times if needed!!! Twice during the year & twice in september (if needed).

One of my best mates is a Filth nut, and he is petrified of the "New Melbourne". He knows our september record against Collingwood is Lethal, He also knows the Club is being reborn properly this time around-next years Filth fixtures are going to be Huge.

    GIANT HEADACHE by Whispering Jack

The crack in the captain’s ankle might be very small but the repercussions of the injury are enormous. The aftershock of the news that Max Gawn will sit on the sidelines for the next two or three weeks has provided Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin with a giant headache, not unlike the one he faced after the Kings Birthday when another Demon superstar Christian Petracca suffered his season-ending injury. That headache is magnified by the fact that Goodwin is facing a month of tough encounters a

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b
