With New Balance on board as of next season, changes to our guernsey in 2011 are as follows.

- New logo above major sponsor on the chest, and

- 12 stars around the collar representing each of our premiership victories.

I love the stars idea and hopefully we will add a few more in a few years time.

Stars around the collar? Interesting, first visions in the head don't sit well.

Where are you getting this?

AWESOME! Love it already. :)

i don't. why alter the jumper with unnecessary stuff like stars around the collar?

Good point but... dare to be different??

However, having these stars promotes that we will be getting another flag soon so you'd sure hope they deliver!! We already have a blank area for our 13th premiership at the MCG on the stands.

Stars ... Hmmmm .... Sounds a little tacky , will wait for a look.

Hope NB get the blue right !

Geez. We've got the southern cross on our emblem and now stars on our jumper.

Are we trying to make a constellation or something

Posted

hmmm, I guess if there is any truth to this then I'll have to wait until I see it but it does sound a little American to me. I'm curious none the less.

And the red

goes without saying...just there seems to be more difficulty over late years getting that blue right...almost purply at times

Stars around the collar? Why not go all out and make them all get star tattoo's like made men in Russia.

Maybe save that idea for when they win a premiership...

Don't like the sound of it myself... it's a bit warner bros cartoonish. BONK!

Why?

Just make the red 'redder' and the blue darker. No need for the logo above the sponsor, nor for this tacky addition of stars on the collar.

we only have one posters "rumour" on the stars - I doubt it will happen - sounds daft

What about the far more important of our new clash jumper which we wear in more and more games every season and even when there's absolutely no clash with the opposition's jumper?

What does that have these days?

Red, white and blue bells and whistles?

I agree. I do not want to see any Premiership insignia on our modern jumper until we win one. Lets be honest after watching last saturday a premiership must be earnt.

By all means depict our premierships on the members wing at the 'G but leave the jumper alone until we are no 1, and even then be very discreet.

Don't get me started on that one....yet. I'm taking a Breather for a few days!!!! B)

The new 'home' jumper is white WYL. The stars will be red & blue depicting the premierships.

The 'away' jumper will be what we, in the past, would refer to as our traditional home jumper.

It seems to me that we wear the away/clash/sh!t jumper more & more so they club have made a good decision in reversing the strips in an effort to wear red & blue more often.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
