Morton!!!

We are doomed.

Stupid comment.

Bail and Morton are welcome inclusions at Subiaco Oval and based on form at VFL (especially that of Bail!!).

However, the inclusions of Fyfe, Broughton and McPharlin are MASSIVE for Fremantle. Who knows what may happen with the good ol' late changes though...

Eh?

Horses for courses selection. Bail adds run, Morton's knack for finding space should be invaluable. Good selections.

Im giving you the benefit of the doubt....

Because that was surely sarcastic....

No one has that little idea about footy..... surely...... surely I don't look at a fan site that has opinions that uneducated...... surely.....

Seriously, what is with the Morton bashing lately?

Both Morton and Bail have massive tanks and they will find plenty of the ball on Sunday, good move by Bailey I have always advocated the horses for courses view for selection.

God knows. We seem to have a player of the month that people jump on and rag for no other reason that one poster highlighted a mistake they made. I'm assuming that he didn't follow a directive and that is why he got dropped but the boy has talent coming out of his wazoo.

He reminds me of a skinny kid the Saints drafted way back when. Could play back, forward or mid but needed a bunch of years to get the body to dominate games. That kid might be Capt of the AA team and might even get a chas this year.

Morton will be a 200+ player gun and if we win a flag I would be very surprised if he didn't get top 3 in the NS.

People are too harsh on Cale, but generally the reasons are:

1. His inability to put on muscle

2. His Jekyll & Hyde disposal

3. With him in the team our winning % is 16% since he started playing. Without him, it goes up to 35%.

Morton will need to improve his intensity at the contest three fold if he's ever to emulate that skinny St.Kilda player.

It was advocated that the reason he had been dropped was the poor defensive aspect of his game.

I'm happy to see Bail and Morton back in (Bail especially), but Morton's previous games in the seniors has had him struggling to get used to the pace and i seem to remember him taking far too long on the ball. But i'm confident that he will regain his touch and become an integral part of the team in time.

Pretty harsh to rely on that one considering this is the first year since he arrived at the club we have won more than 4 games and we missed the first half through injury! He played nearly every game in two seasons where we have 3 and 4 wins, is out injured for our first 3 wins this year and gets dropped for our most recent win. Inflated statistic.

I like Cale, and think he will be a terrific player........the problem I have at the moment is that he lacks intensity for the contested ball, and when it's his turn to go, he doesn't!

Hopefully with strength and confidence, this will change, but he can't get away with it forever!

Jekyl and Hyde disposal is due to strong long kicks, weak chips kicks. According to Gotch. Rings true to me.

His inability to go into packs is a problem, but I think a large part of that is that he has an idea that HE should be the one to end up with the ball, or running free to play to his strengths. Not that I'm saying it's a good thing, but I think he's either TOLD to play a receiver's role, or he's developed this as a rule when approaching stoppages.

And they were both top five picks.

He's always reminded me of him :)

Morton is a jet and should play the rest of the year.

I really like Bail too and think they are two very good selections.

On a side note i really hope they are just being extra cautious with Gysberts whose back injury seems to just keep dragging on.

Looking forward to another positive performance and step in the right direction!

B: Colin Garland, Jared Rivers, Clint Bartram

HB: Jordie McKenzie, James Frawley, Cameron Bruce

C: Jamie Bennell, Nathan Jones, Brad Green

HF: Lynden Dunn, Jack Watts, Tom Scully

F: Colin Sylvia, Matthew Bate, Liam Jurrah

FOLL: Mark Jamar, Brent Moloney, Aaron Davey

I/C: Joel Macdonald, Paul Johnson, Rohan Bail, Cale Morton

Pretty good team IMO - only Grimes, Trengove, Junior, Gysberts, Petterd missing from our best 22. I wonder how we'd fit em all in if everyone was fit?

@DemonblogBell also out there. No sign of the Stefan Martin Experience in either game. Must be in big trouble at the end of the year.

(Yawn) Martin is 198cm project player that until around 4 years ago was playing basketball. If big players who have been playing footy all their lives take a long time to mature then Stef will possibly take a will as well. They don't fall off trees you know, they have to be developed and persevered with. Lucky you aren't on the match committee I'd say.

I think you could add Wona onto those that could fit into our best 22.

Really? At present is Aussie in our best 22? I think Austin is a sad case at the moment... much like Martin.

I said could fit- are you saying he couldn't. On current form he isn't- however I feel he has the talent to be considered

The bold players could make way - but there's always injuries, so there's almost no such thing as a best 22 anymore. More like a 22 with five/six players that cover injuries, suspensions etc.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
