YOU'VE GOT TO CARRY THAT WEIGHT

Very surprised that Morton was dropped and is still in the 2's.

Jurrah will play

Joel MacDonald should play for casey

Jounson should play for casey

Maric would have to count himself lucky or he's going to prove he's better suited to AFL football.

Don't see Cheney as a long term prospect

Bail deserves more games

I'm a Jetta fan but he needs to do more and I think he will.....eventually

The team needs a big game from Col

Really hope we put on a performance like the Brisbane game. We need to start stamping our authority over the Bombers for they are ordinary at best.

INT: Jurrah, Bail, Cheney, Maric

I do not understand why PJ would be included in the squad against a team with

one good ruckman after showing nothing then getting suspended unless Jamar

is a possible late exclusion. Jamar's last 2 weeks have been questionable..

posibly carrying a niggling injury?

I reckon it's just a simple backup plan. If the unthinkable happened to Jamar, then sure, he'd come in. But I wouldn't be holding my breath.

I have a feeling Maric will be unlucky again. PJ of course and then Jurrah will have one more game in the VFL. Sylvia to come in as an extra forward option, for the omission of Spencer. And Bail for Grimes. Easy Peasy, Japanesy.

I am extremely pumped for this match, almost more so than the QB match against the pies. This is our chance to get back on winning terms but it is by no means a sure thing. We will have to work hard early, get the pressure on them and get goals on the board quickly. I'm looking for big performances out of Jonesy and Beamer as they need to show the way from the start.

For me there are there are a few factors that fall in our favour:

1. It's at the G, and we've looked our best at our home.

2. It's against Essendon, which should naturally fire the boys up similar to the pies.

3. Fletcher out is massive, he always kills us and it gives Watts a better chance.

4. Jamar, he will dominate, simple as that.

One more thing i'm tipping, a very vocal crowed. Let's make sure the boys know we're there for them!

A heads up for all people using the Frankston line (before Mordialloc) to get to the match:

"Due to track maintenance and level crossing upgrade at Bonbeach, buses will replace trains between Mordialloc station and Frankston station for the last two late-night services on Friday 9 July, and all trains between Mordialloc and Frankston on Saturday 10 and Sunday, 11 July 2010.

Journey times will be extended by up to 16 minutes."

I want (and expect) to see Jurrah, Bail, MacDonald, Jetta

I will puke if I see Johnson, Maric, Cheney, MacDonald

I do have a sinking feeling, however, that Johnson has been picked as Jamar is beginning to struggle. The last 2 weeks have been a lot worse for Jamar than the preceeding 12, and given we played Spencer last week the FD might think a second ruckman is needed to help the Russian out. Not my preference however. Not only is PJ useless, but playing him denies someone like Cheney, Jetta or Bail a game, which just doesn't help us at all.

Does anyone know what the FD want Cale Morton to work on? I thought that it was good that they didn't rush him straight back into the seniors. I am one for you being dropped adn playing a couple of games in teh reserves to build your confidence and show that you can perform consistantly etc. No point yo-yoing up adn down. I hope he gets back on track, I really enjoy seeing Morton at full flight. His run and carry moves teh ball 60 metres at a time.

You forgot to mention 2008, wildly regarded as one of the worst umpired games of all time in terms of us getting screwed.

Is that the Lloyd 'Mark of the Year' game when he kicked 8 goals?

Melbourne screwed by the umpires that day???? Wouldn't have thought the umpires were the difference that day.

Surely we dont have to wear that ugly clash jumper since its our home game?

Its our HOME game... we wear OUR HOME jumper !! as simple as that. essendon need only wear their normal jumper and all is fine.. Their clash jumper with more red would be worse. Weve managed to play these guys for a long long while without getting confused !!! ;)

chances are of course the clowns at AFL house will kit out the umps in RED !!!

There most certainly is a clash between the Dees and Bombers IMO. But, given that it's our home game, they should have to wear their clash strip.

their clash strip has a wider sash !!! that really helps !! lol

We turn up in our normal jumper...they too... no pobs

Only been playing them for the last 138 years... geez mustve been lucky not to get confused all those years :)

People have complained about the clash for years? Are you serious? It's probably one of the most blatant in the league.

Even the 2000 GF I remember saying to my dad that I struggled to pick the two apart.

Exactly, their clash jumper has a wider sash - a wider, red sash. Therefore this jumper will not clash with our mostly dark with a bit of red as much as their usual guernsey, which is...mostly dark with a bit of red.

AFL site has Essendon wearing their Home jumpers, dont tell me were wearing our away jumpers!!

No, both teams are wearing their home jumpers, and Essendon has undertaken to work with the AFL to develop a clash jumper suitable to wear in away games against Melbourne.

It was accepted that Melbourne had the right to wear their home jumper in this game, and the AFL deemed that Essendon's 'clash' jumper actually caused more of a clash than their home jumper.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
