Very exciting stuff.

Still on target for the Essendon game in Rnd 15.

Great to have him back.

AWESOME.

Can't wait to see Jurrah, Watts, Bate and Green play together and develop together as a unit! These 4 + Pettard will be our forward line for the next 4 years.

Perhaps Morton, Wona, Bennel, Jetta, Sylvia and others will go through the forward line, but these 5 named above form a very dangerous group of mobile forwards, each a different size and shape.

Jurrah is going to be playing for the scorps this weekend!

Awesome news.b Still unsure on weather he'll play seniors or reserves.

Cant wait!

I for one will be there.

I reckon he will play in the reserves; I doubt he will play the full game and this is an important game for Casey so they can't be one man down for half a game. Whatever, I hope he does well and look forward to seeing him play for the Dees in the hear future.

well our X-man is on the mend !!! returning to a scren near you son....fantastic. This wil lgive our forward line the potency its been somewhat lacking. Opponents defensive makeups will change accordingly bettering the oportunites for our other forwards.

Hes been definitely missed, and sorely this year. He alone would haveprovided a catalyst for last week resulting in a win not a draw. A big call some would suggest...hardly!!. He makes things happen...from nothing..and there was a whole lot of nothing in that game.

Others ( demons ) fall under the spell and lift a bit too Ive noticed

Plaudits to the club for managing him back to health,no need to rush him.

Unfortunately i don't believe Petterd will be there next year. He is one GC17 have on the books (or under the table) already. All we'll end up getting is some crap 3rd or 4th round pick which is absurd but to be expected from the AFL.

Jurrah, Watts, Bate, Green, Bennell, Jetta, Fitzpatrick, Tapscott plus rotating midfielders through there- that will be the finals force in a few years.

I say again, don't hang your hopes on Jurrah this season. He's coming off a long injury layoff and has had no gametime for months. Ig you expect him to come out and win games for us you'll just be disappointed. It's great that he's getting back into it, but I don't expect much this year. Next season with another pre-season into him we can expect the fun to begin.

Yeah, agree totally

Lets not forget LJ was playing pretty badly before the injury too..

he needs to get back up near that level he produced late last year,

he needs to get back up to 'AFL' speed and

he needs to get his 'physical' confidence back so he doesnt 2nd guess any inevitable contact or 'testing' of the injury by opponents.

Hope he's back for the last month. Thats the BCS ATM..

Yup. Swans... If he was to make it for the Freo game, he'd need to kick 4+ and we'd need to have a cirsis forward line game the week before against Essendon. Which I reckon we're unlikely to do.

Unfortunately i don't believe Petterd will be there next year. He is one GC17 have on the books (or under the table) already.

Sauce? Or is this just another poster who "reckons" he's gone? If so, poor form.

He did some pretty impressive things last year with 9 games, starting in round 12. He was underdone then too, you'll find.

I think if you look closely at our season... assuming he makes it into the side at the Swans game, we will be about 6-9-1 by that stage. If we can steal a result from the Saints who needed Roo to beat us last time, or Freo who are slowing a bit... we'll still be in the hunt for a finals berth. (not saying we'll make it... but we need to stay in touch for as LONG as possible, I reckon)

What Jurrah offers us is not necessarily a matchwinner with his injuries... But it makes it a 3 pronged attack up forward. With he, Watts and Miller all available to be regular targets for the long ball. Jurrah would only need 10 touches to be a factor against ANY side in the AFL...

I'm not expecting 30 goals in 8 games... But what he offers us has been sorely missing. It's not like he has oodles of competition. Better to be a forward coming back from injury than a defender or midfielder on this list. Our forwards have been disappointing at best.

It isn't. Simply a retort to what the previous poster mentioned about Petterd being in the forward line for the next 4 years.

Can't see your problem- the rest of the post was about the exciting other prospects.

Sauce? Or is this just another poster who "reckons" he's gone? If so, poor form.

Sauce- Tomato

Source.....Visual confirmation of him up there watching them play. Coupled with other bits of info i believe it is pretty likely and anyone who thinks that he isn't getting harrassed by, giving serious consideration too or already has signed with them is kidding themselves.

But as the bloke above said, let's not give it any more discussion.

hopefully LJ can find a bit of fitness and touch and we see him in the red and blue for the last 4-6 rounds.

From what other threads I have read Jurrah has trained fairly strongly over the past couple of weeks, why not start him in the one's? His type of injury would have allowed some miles through the legs and I'm not sure a player such as him would benefit much from a two's return.....Ok I am being selfish as I live out in Berwick and wont get to Burbank in time for the two's!!

According to the most recent article on MFC website, almost all our players should be playing AFL or VFL in the second week of the split round except 3 players.

- Meesan- LTI- only a rookie ruckman, wouldn't be getting a game anyways

- Gawn- 5 weeks away- 18 y/o ruckman, wouldn't be getting a game for at least 2 years anways

- Pettard- Season- our 1 major injury that affects our team

Pretty amazingly short injury list!

Don't worry guys, the Jurrah train is raring to go again.

It promises to be an exciting second half of the season. Can't wait to see LJ, Aussie, Flash, Jamie and Neville play in a game together for the first time.

Excellent!

The Jurrah train is without doubt my favourite form of public transport B)

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
