I think the next match is very important-as important as any this year from now on.

Our interstate record is bad. We've regularly lost to inferior teams at AAMI or Subi [the record in Sydney is not so bad] Daniher's game-plan didn't work in Perth and Adelaide where the grounds are longer.

It's vital that the kids in our team adopt a mentality that all games are winnable--as they are. N.M has a good record interstate even though its home ground is Docklands. We must get it right or we can never aspire to top 4 status.

I reckon our average losing margin at AAMI must be at least 70 points. I remember that no matter where Melbourne, Adelaide or Port sit on the ladder, we will always receive a drubbing at AAMI.

A lifetime indeed that game but a good memory!! I was only into the start of a relationship with my wife when we watched that great game together....we've since had two kids and not got within 10 goals since!!

This is a great thread and I hope the extra week gives the FD ample time to get us up for this one, Crows are in awful form and we should be capable of winning this. The shocking interstate record we have can start to be turned around with this game and the kids will have a platform for the future, North is a great example of taking over a winning mentality interstate regardless of talent, ladder position etc.

I really would love to see us win more than we loose on the run home and this game will be the deciding factor on whether or not we can achieve that....games against Essendon, Richmond, Swans at the G, Nth Melb, Port at AAMI into the Crows game are 7 games that on our best form this year we can win.

Agreed that the next match is a big one for us, regardless of the prospective ladder positions. I always get nervous when we play at Subiaco or AAMI, because we NEVER seem to be able to kick a winning score at these grounds! Even now I'm not feeling all to confident of coming away with the four points!

Yes and no. They won't be as bad as they were at the G. It'd be about a 50/50 game I reckon. Impossible to pick. It may be our best opportunity for years to come. That club, with their resources, they won't be down for long... And even if they're mediocre over the next 3-5 years, they will still be a force at AAMI, as always. Maybe we should pray for Tigers-like rain?

Playing interstate, it's important to keep the crowd as quiet as possible by getting in front early & staying there. It's just about impossible to play "catch-up", because if the home team is in front the crowd gets involved and carries them along, where if they get behind the home crowd is silent. So it's even more important that we jump them at the start. If we start like we've been doing for most of the season, we'll really be shovelling it uphill.

I think Adelaide will be too good for us at AAMI. They've won 3 of their last 5 games, so their recent form is quite good.

I've written North Melbourne off as a loss. For some reason we don't have the ability to beat them...don't know what it is.

Essendon is a possibility.

Richmond is winnable.

Swans is a possibility

Port maybe...if they've given up on the season.

We may end the season at 7-14-1 which will be a nice achievement.
