Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I know Scully went mental last night and has the nomination for Rising Star stitched up and that should be highlighted of course, but Jordie was absolutely fkn magic.

His tackling and quick hands out of tight contests rarely missed a target. On top of that the boy was everywhere, and even as a huge fan of the kid, I didnt appreciate his engine enough.

He's not flying under the radar or anything but im not sure he is getting appropriate recognition. Reminds me of Junior with his tackling pressure and clearance work. You just cant rate that sort of effort highly enough.

Well done Jordie

mcKenzie was fantastic...if you watch a few of the goals kicked last night...he was involved in plays 5-20 seconds earlier that set them up...guy is a great player for us...getting him as a rookie is like getting him for free!

Badly, badly missed last weekend

In the top ten required players without a shadow of a doubt

No wonder Adelaide wanted him really really bad, they need someone like him

Too bad he's OURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was fantastic especially the last quarter as already mentioned he was badly missed last week and could have made a big diffirence too the result, as his replacement last week was Steph Martin who was horrible.

Anyway this kid is something special.

He tackles like his life depends on it. I remember a situation where a Doggie was running out of a tight contest, and McKenzie tackled and slipped, so only caught his jumper, and still managed to drag the Doggies player down. What a gun.

An integral part of our future and still a rookie! Wow, imagine how potent our midfield could be when they have had a couple of years playing together!

Last night

McKenzie

Warnock

Grimes

JT

Skulley

Green

Jones

were all top notch that list goes on for last night to be honest, we played better footy for 3/4 and I offended by the umpiring, they made errors in all areas, goal boundary and central.

Skulley was BOG for me and we got a glimpse into the future and it looks very exciting.

How/why was he missed? A player this good at his age?

The footy department are looking veeeeery very clever.

BP's first rookie draftee, I believe. And looking like a hum-dinger.

If Jordie had not already done so in the first few rounds, he certainly cemented his spot in our best 22 last night. Surprises like this bloke are making going to the footy so enjoyable right now. Hard nut too, imagine how good he will be when he puts another 5 or 6 kilo`s on!

Love Jordie. He's fast becoming one of my favourites. Really nice bloke too.

Interesting what CC said about him on 7 last night "We knew we had a beauty within the first two months he was with us..." or something like that.

His hands are fantastic. While others fumbled, he was clean. Gysbert looks to be that one touch player too. Scully, Trengove, Mckenzie, Gysbert. Bang bang bang bang.

Because of Sculls and JT he is getting lost in the side and very few recognise just how good he is, Brereton mentioned he is a hard at it in and under, well we know he is much more than that.

His kicking and hand skills are very good and if it was any other year the media would be singing his praises.

I noticed how he set off several chains of play that resulted in goals. What about Grimes he is flying under the radar as well.

He had corrective hip surgery in 2007 and missed most of that season and part of the 08 season so wasn't obviously seen in his last two years of junior footy.

I remember BP saying at the time, as soon as the draft was over his first call was to Jordie!

Must have seen something in him pretty early on, but BP is proving to be a very good talent spotter!

I don't think Grimes is flying under the radar- I think he is being developed in the backline- but before long - maybe after a preseason or two to develop his stamina will end up like a Hodge type.Play him anywhere ,but midfield will be best position for him.

What I meant by that is the lack of media attention Grimes and Jordie get, they are very rarely mentioned when commentators discuss the Dees. It's like they're our own little secret.

The less attention MFC receive from the media the better.

I can remember a few years ago, when melbourne had a KILLER winning streak and ended up top of the ladder, the media was all over the MFC, subsequently MFC lost games and just made the 8.

Media STAY AWAY, nothing for you to see here.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
