Interesting game to watch.

Saints no where near their best but still managed to have the game played on their own terms. The Doggies just didn't cope with it.

Gee, the pressure will be on the Doggies if we roll them next week. (Not getting ahead of myself seeing as we play North tomorrow).

They will be kicking themselves seeing as the Dogs are supposed to be 'Premiership Contenders'.

Disappointing to see the Saints rewarded with a win for playing such a disgraceful brand of footy. I know they did what they had to do to win, and the Doggies didn't take their chances, but they are easily one of the worst sides in the league to watch, and have been since Lyon took over.

Hopefully the AFL takes note and bars them from any Friday night fixtures next year, and replaces them with the Demons.

watching this game, I hate to say it but the Dees style of hard footy look like they could take the Doggies next Friday.

Not just the doggies -- it'd give the Saints a run for their money, without their skipper. The Dogs needed to break the lines far more than they did tonight and as they didn't, they came up against the zone and when you're up against that, St Kilda have proved over the last season and a bit that it's very nearly impossible to break down, other than to break it by run, handball and short passes.

Also, how did WB manage 3 Friday games in 4 weeks?

Make that 3 Friday games in 3 weeks, (which I guess is also 3 in 4 weeks  )

I wouldn't be getting ahead of ourselves with next week, the game tonight was intense, almost finals like, so difficult to move the ball as well as Bullies missing some chances.

We almost beat them last year and we're in with a chance, but lets take it as it comes. Bulldogs still my tip to make the GF

As Crawford said in the MMM call last weekend, the footy we played against the Lions would have beaten any Australian Rules team in the world at the moment. We were that good, and were only getting better. Having watched the game probably 4 or 5 times, I'm inclined to agree.

The question is can we do it away, and can we keep up that intensity.

It'll be interesting.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
