Demonland Player of the Year

6. Moloney

5. Frawley

4. Jones

3. Bate

2. Jamar

1. Trengove

I know these votes are an each to their own thing, but I'm completely baffled by those who don't have Moloney in their list at all. I don't expect everyone to agree that he was the best, but I thought there would be universal agreement that he was in the best 6.

Magnificent team effort ... almost seems unfair to single out a few players. I'll have a go at it anyway, with apologies to the other 16!

6. Moloney: Workrate and leadership outstanding, and his ball use was the best I've ever seen from him.

5. Frawley: Magnificent. Kept one of the AFL's best and most important players to zero influence. Fantastic focus / concentration for 100 minutes.

4. Warnock: Not too far behind Frawley. Did a great job containing Fevola's influence. Loved the way he was continually in Fev's ear.

3. Bate: One of his best games. A key link between defence and attack.

2. Jamar: Tapwork and work around the ground wwere again exceptional. He just keeps racking up highly credentialled scalps.

1. Trengove: Someone will have to play an outstanding game to keep the Rising Star nom. from him this week!

6. J.Trengove: easily his best game yet. Sheer class.

5. J. Frawley: even if Brown wasn't 100% he still couldve won the match for them. Chip is entering the elite FB category.

4. M. Bate: when he is on, he is REALLY on!!!

3. B. Moloney: having an awesome year.

2. N. Jones: likewise.

1. M. Jamar: just his presence...

Really hard to put them in order and leave out 16 other players.

Guest Gold Syliva Bronze

6. Sylia - If the demons keep winning, he'll push for All Australian.

5. Moloney - Played like a leader, kept the effort up all night.

4. Frawley - Jono Brown 1 goal, enough said.

3. Jones - Worked hard and played dynamic football.

2. Warnock - Outstanding defence despite Fevola bagging 4.

1. Trengove - This kid, along with Tom Scully, is going to be a superstar.

Jordie Mckenzie, unlucky, love the way this kid plays.

The great thing I learnt from last nights game is that we don't have a star. We've got 24 blokes that go out there and play as a team to win. With guys like Watts, Blease, Morton, Tapscott, Jurrah, Wona, Strauss and Gysberts to grow into this side, along with Scully and Trengove etc....We're going to be a very good football team ladies and gents.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
