You'd think there was absolutely no case for Brent to answer - and that's without taking into consideration the bump on Col in the pre-season.

Pfft. It was a good hard and - most of all fair - hip and shoulder. It's not Beamers fault that Nason is a soft, girly midget.

Umpires need to take into consideration lightweight players (ie. Nason), especially those with dreadlocks which make things look worse.

In all seriousness, Nason prepared himself for the bump - he just bounced off like a rag doll. McLaren thought, "oh you poor little thing..."

If he get's rubbed out for that then the club need to go to the media and give the AFL a spray and if they cop a massive fine from it, then so be it.

Good thinking.

We lose a player for a week or so and then cop a massive fine for an antic that does not address the first problem.

Sage.

Hopefully common sense rules and Beamer is not rubbed out.

Nason should get demerit points for the terrible dreads

I expect the charge to be withdrawn and put it down to McLaren being a dill (in his 350th match yet!)

In this morning's paper the report is down to Kennedy. Should still be withdrawn - it was a legit shepherd. The surfer dude was in play.

To Nason's credit he got straight up and continued on. The result is always taken into account when these soft reports are presided over. Beamer will get off or it really is goodbye to the bump !

I think t5he point is that if he gets any weeks then the footy club have to make an example of what happened to Sylvia and draw huge huge comparison's. Moloney's bump was a hell of a lot fairer than the hit on Col. I think that the Dee's would have a lot of media support if they challenged the decision.

Going on how soft Buddy Franklin's one was last week, it would not surprise me if he got a week. But again, that bump on Sylvia in the pre-season MUST come back to haunt the AFL every time a report like this goes up. Does Beamer have any points left over from a previous report? Because if he doesn't, a reprimand could be the way they go.

McLaren should review and withdraw his complaint before Tuesday.

Beamer did once get 3 weeks for not hitting Bartel's head in a hip and shoulder, hate to think what he'll get!

Based on that. He's looking at 9 weeks.

From level 3 wing I could see definition in his arms and his general beefcake hulk like build. Nason looked like a rebelious Charlie Bucket. Nothing in it- boy getting bumped by big man- boy gets hurt some.. life of the pathetic and frail rookie..

Case thrown out was on SEN

Good .... justice served!

Yeah Cam Schwab twitter says cleared. All good!!!

Sweet we need Beamer Next Saturday night-I now give us a chance of winning. This Game will be won from the Midfield.

Very good news, we will need hard bodies out there against the Lions.

Wow.

That's HUGE!

Not so much that it's controversial... More that he's going to be a big difference next week against the Lions. We need those mature bodies of Jones/Moloney to take some of the heat allowing Trengove and Scully the room they've enjoyed.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
