If there was a three person draft and the MFC had pick 1 which person would we pick?

Was it because people did not want to live in NSW or was it another reason (see 1851 map) ?

Love the fact that 7mate are running re-runs every day. Recently saw the library inspector episode - classic stuff.

Yep, Gv, some comedy just never dates.

I make sure I watch a lot of new comedy shows such as Broad City, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Saturday Night Live & Silicon Valley but reruns of Frasier, Lead Balloon, Curb your Enthusiasm and a number of other US & UK productions just can't be beaten.

Comedy thread you say? You guys are treading on some ambiguous territory. Most of the football conversation on the main board ends up becoming a comedy thread.

I started viewing some of these Youtubes yesterday and had a great time and your comment that some comedy never dates is so true. I somehow ended up watching some Jonathon Winters' (Mork's son if I remember correctly) standup routines from 1964 no less? Just about [censored] myself laughing!

I've got to post up some more Jonathan Winters stuff - he truly was a genius.

You may have seen the following clip but for the benefit of others ... features both Winters and the late Robin Williams

Great stuff. I had watched that clip when Jonathan died but still gets me going. The one that got me in fits yesterday was from the Jack Paar tonight shows from the 60's. I had never heard of him but he was before Johny Carson. The skit was Jonathan doing a take on your typical scary movie, so he does a great impressionist voice of Boris Karloff as the mad scientist in the haunted house with a demented housekeeper etc.

I am a techno ignoramus so have no idea how to load up the Utube link but it is a gem!

Here it is ... btw EH, to post up a youtube link - just highlight and copy the address bar for whatever clip you're wanting to post up - then "paste" it over here (you've got to "right click" to get up all your options)

It will initially appear here as the writing on the address bar but upon posting, the link will magically appear ...

ABC has recently started playing repeats of the Aussie comedy "Problems". Which reminded me how funny Samm Simmons was. He made it onto Conan Obrien's show last year and did some great segments on "Dirty Laundry". There's also a standup show he did on ABC that's available on youtube.

He reminds me a little of Andy Kaufman, just because he can be so obscure sometimes.

We seem to have gone Cyrillic all of a sudden here! Aguitte I don't agree with what you say but I defend your right to say whatever the hell you are trying to say I think, if only I knew what that was.

Could be a spy.

It took years of ASIO training for me to come to this conclusion.

Luckily ,DC , you were able to help spot him.

Was reminded the the other day of a couple of beautiful sledges from years gone by.

1.

Mark Waugh to James Ormond: "Fark me, look who it is. Mate, what are you doing out here? There’s no way you’re good enough to play for England.”

Ormond back to Waugh: "Maybe not, but at least I'm the best player in my family."

2.

As Daryl Cullinan came out to bat, Warne told him he had been waiting 2 years for another chance to humiliate him. Cullinan replied: "Looks like you spent it eating."

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
