I don't know about anyone else but with four days to go I've hit the wall with saturation coverage of this stuff. I've already banned watching any You Tube material (most of it is misleading anyway because it packages a player's highlights and doesn't show much of what he's doing for the remaining 95% or so of a game) and I think I'll lock myself away from this for a few days. Still, can't wait for the real thing though!

Feeling a bit like WJ and I can't wait for it to be over. While I respect Emma and her draft knowledge and admit mine is not much above nil, I can't help but feel that this year her picks won't line up with the actual clubs this year. She has Port taking 2 mids with their fist 2 picks and us 4 mids with with our first 4 picks. I just can't see that happening. She also has Cunnington slipping to 7 and Butcher taken by North whereas I feel they will take a mid, most likely Cunnington.

Connolly fanning the Ball discussion is also very interesting as if we take him that changes things as it will if it forces another club to strike early to take him.

Anyway it makes for a few days more discussion.

Speaking of Jordan McMahon, as soon as the draft is finished, can we pleeeease remove this list clogger's name from this forum?

I really don't enjoy clicking on a dud tiger's name during the off-season.

Just my 2 cents, now i'm off to read Emma's article, i enjoy her stuff, so i'm sure i'll enjoy this article too

This isn't her phantom draft. Just her top 25. They are two different things and she did both last year.

Emma Quayle has stressed that this is NOT a phantom draft, merely who she likes in rough order of "best".  Her list is:

1. JACK TRENGOVE (18, Sturt, 185cm, 84kg)

2. TOM SCULLY (18, Dandenong Stingrays, 182cm, 77kg)

3. DUSTIN MARTIN (18, Bendigo Pioneers, 186cm, 88kg)

4. GARY ROHAN (18, Geelong Falcons, 188cm, 82kg)

5. JOHN BUTCHER (18, Gippsland Power, 197cm, 87kg)

6. JAKE MELKSHAM (18, Calder Cannons, 185cm, 75kg)

7. BEN CUNNINGTON (18, Geelong Falcons, 185cm, 84kg)

8. JASPER McMILLAN-PITTARD (18, Geelong Falcons, 186cm, 71kg)

9. ANTHONY MORABITO (18, Peel Thunder, 191cm, 97kg)

10. CALLUM BARTLETT (18, Geelong Falcons, 179cm, 75kg)

11. LEWIS JETTA (20, Swan Districts, 181cm, 69kg)

12. AARON BLACK (18, Peel Thunder, 192cm, 82kg)

13. DANIEL TALIA (18, Calder Cannons, 194kg, 90kg)

14. ANDREW MOORE (18, Eastern Ranges, 189cm, 86kg)

15. TROY TAYLOR (18, NT Thunder, 189cm, 77kg)

16. BRAD SHEPPARD (18, East Fremantle, 186cm, 81kg) .

17. RYAN BASTINAC (18, Dandenong Stingrays, 184cm, 77kg)

18. KANE LUCAS (18, East Fremantle, 187cm, 79kg)

19. KOBY STEVENS (18, Gippsland Power, 187cm, 84kg)

20. JORDAN GYSBERTS (18, Eastern Ranges, 189cm, 82kg)

21. BEN GRIFFITHS (18, Eastern Ranges, 199cm, 98kg)

22. NATHAN VARDY (18, Gippsland Power, 198cm, 94kg)

23. LUKE TAPSCOTT (18, North Adelaide, 180cm, 87kg)

24. JAKE CARLISLE (18, Calder Cannons, 197cm, 87kg)

25. SAM REID (18, Murray Bushrangers, 194cm, 87kg)

She has also deliberately omitted Luke Ball because her purpose is to introduce the young players.

Well, we're taking your suggestion on board although Jordan McMahon has become something of a cult hero around here. If we end up drafting Luke Ball he'll certainly come into the mix.

There must be something about recycled players who have ended up at Richmond because Bomber Blitz have named their trade and draft board after Tom Hislop. I guess we're all paying homage to their former coach, the incomparable Terry Wallace who raised trading and drafting to an art form.

I will give Emma some credit. Justifies her selections (although I do not agree with her list in parts) and seems to have poured much time and deliberation into her list.

The admission of Luke Ball suggest he is a top 25 talent in the draft (which is obvious). I wonder where she would have ranked him.

I really want Vardy at 18. I have about 5-6 players I want at pick 11 (none of which are named Luke Ball), but at 18 I want only Vardy.

The best thing about this list is the thought of 4-5 of them playing in Demon jumpers ...

That is exciting, I can not wait to see these player we pick and the current crop of youngsters rack up 50 games under their belts.

THE DEMONS WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE..

And add to that there is no Matthew Panos, Jack Fitzpatrick, Dylan Grimes and Liam Patrick on that list, I'm confident we will get the goods with picks 11 and 18. Even makes 34 look better as well.

Give me a spell.

Perhaps you should stop just reading Phanton Drafts.

Gee, sorry I don't know everything about everyone.

Up until I read that article, I'd never heard of McMillan-Pittard before. He hadn't really come up in discussions much on this website either.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
