OK here goes:

1. Tom Scully

2. Jack Trengove, or his sister who is apparently runs faster

11. Talia or, if gone, Panos/Carlisle/Griffiths...BP will know who is the best fit

18. Troy Taylor..love his kicking style, have a feeling he will be a gun

34. Max Gawn - the last ruckman we had named Max turned out all right, lets go again... by the way, what number did Tangles wear??

50. Dylan Grimes

PSD Mitch Thorpe, or if he can't be salvaged, Liam Patrick or Majak Daw (if they last this far). Tehel also may still be available and could be worth the gamble...but I would love BP to have free licence to conjure up a total bolter with this pick.

This means we don't get Ball and I don't think he is worth trading a ND pick for anyway with his strong preference to play elsewhere

Also assuming WCE take Jetta and Butcher goes before our pick 11

The sitar has never played more sweetly!

Not one mention of Ball yet. I get a feeling he might end up a demon after draft night.

This is my guess at the moment, could be more a wishlist. I'll update closer to draft night.

1 - Scully

2 - Trengove

11 - Talia

18 - Ball/Tapscott

34 - James Craig

50 - ................

psd1 - .............

Apart from who we draft,,,i'll be interested to hear the reasons how we choose pick #1 over pick #2...these boys are both superstars...i think whoever goes number 1 isn't going to feel the pressure as much as jack did.

don't know any players but i'll consider the following:

1 - Trengove

2 - Scully

11 - best available KPP

18 - best available KPP

34- best available

50 - best available

psd - thorp.

pretty pumped about this draft. it's been a bloody long year!

Regarding my PSD pick, I think MacDonald is an exciting prospect for the Melbournefc, and I really hope the club does select him at Psd#1. He is a proven player.

1 - T.Scully

2 - J.Trengove

11 - J.Butcher

18 - R.Bastinac

34 - M.Gawn

PSD 1 - M.Thorp

PSD 2 - S.Valenti

Rookie - Aaron Kite.

What makes you think the FD would re-draft Valenti?

We had spots on our list. If they thought he was worthy of one they would have elevated him.

I'll have 2 cracks -

1. Scully

2. Trengove

11. Vardy

18. Ball

34. Joel McDonald

51. Liam Patrick

PSD 1. Thorp

or...

1. Scully

2. Trengove

11. Worst available

18. Worst available

34. Worst available

51. Worst available

PSD 1. Robbo

Sorry about the 2nd list, just taking the pi$$ out of those who continually say "best available". Of course we are going to take the best available at the pick you twats!!!! Use names people rather than that boring line! Don't think BP (or whoever it is reading the names out on draft night) will say "pick 34, number 11111, best available"

I can't see us taking 3 recycled players. Maybe 2, if we want Ball. But if we want MacDonald, that will be PSD.

By best available people mean taking the best of the remaining players as opposed to taking a player based on their position.

For example, some people think we should take a key position forward at Pick 11 no matter what. That's not taking the best available, it's filling a gap in the list. There might be a better player, who happens to be a midfielder, or defender.

This would add 2 midfielders, 3 KPP, a med size forward and a mid size defender, I would walk away very happy with those selections.

I Second that !!

I can understand that titan, but this thread is after NAMES!!!

Probably right about 3 recycled players, but thought I'd throw my opinion out there like the rest. Just think we have got a great % of 0-50 game players, as well as our few 120+ game players, just think we could do with 2 or 3 more in the 51-119 game bracket to have a bit better balance.

Went with Talia ahead of Vardy and others because of his superior kicking and disposal.

HOPE Tappy and Daw are still there at 18 and 34.

Jack Grimes will be a Star, definetely worth the risk on young Dylan.

If we take Thorp.. surely were not that daft? Or do we want a 'hit-man' D. Rhys-Jones type? If we have to spend the money somehow, then Joel for me.

Maybe Liam Patrick as a back up for an already taken Daw / Grimey2? ..Or if anyone is silly enough to pick up Newts / Meese  and frees up a rookie spot

Can someone tell me what I am missing with Tapscott. Best kick in the draft allegedly but he looks like this years Rockliff for mine. Why would we take him at 11 instead of a tall or a true mid? Where does he fit as an AFL footballer? I am missing something I think....

First two picks go without saying. I'd like to see us take the best ruckman in the draft with 11 as our ruck stocks are exceptionally weak. Ball at 18 is a bargain. Upgrade on Brock, professional attitude, perfect to mentor the kids and is ready to make an impact immediately. Picks 34 and 50 are roughies but that gives us 3 mids, 1 ruckman, 2kpp and 1 med forward.

He's got great disposal, a great kick / kick for goal, really hard at the ball / player

BP or whoever it was suggested we would look to get a KPP with pick 11 so thats why i personally hope he's still around at 18.

Icing on the cake type player for mine, a Chapman / Stewart Dew type that would compliment his good mate J. Trengove across our half-forward line next year-

With Trenny being groomed for an eventual permanent midfield role, imo Tappy would be more the dead-eye-dick banging it home from 50.

I'd love Tapscott at 11. The Chapman comparison is quiet accurate I think. I also think it'd be good for young Jack to have a close mate from SA come to Melbourne with him.

Bit random, but Dustin Martin seems like a bit of [censored], any one else notice?

Tapscott has a great booming kick, he and syvia could just about kick the lenth of the MCG.

C'mon mate, he's best mates with Trengove. People around here love that sort of stuff.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
