Thought Bartram would go before Bucks, will there be more to come?

Along with many others I always suspected we'd look to get on board 6 new faces for 010. With Buckley and Valenti delisted today it would seem now we are able to exercise picks 1, 2, 11, 18, 34 and PSD1 assuming we will bail on the draft after 34.

Is Buckley to old to put on the rookie list?

Would he be worth a shot on the rookie list?

sad day for me!

Been a huge Bucks fan and unfortunately being injured all last year has hurt this chances.

If both fit though i would choose Bucks over Barts all day...

Be interesting to see if more is to come though..

I don't feel like we gave Buckley enough of a chance to show his worth. I know he had a bad season with injury, but when he played senior footy, I thought he showed a lot of promise. I hope he gets picked up elsewhere and that he gets himself the footy future he deserves.

CB will be disappointed re: Valenti.

We're still a spot short. McLean, Whelan, Robbo, Wheatley, Buckley all make 5 spots. That's 1, 2, 11, 18 and PSD 1. Valenti was on the rookie list, so his delisting doesn't give us another spot.

As it stands we'll be passing on 34. I would have thought, if we were going to delist more players, we'd have done so today. So maybe we don't think 34 is going to be of much use.

This disappoints me a little but I understand why it has been done.

I thought Valenti did very well with limited opportunities, but would have suffered game time once our midfield became more 'full' after this draft.

I liked Buckely's endeavor and dash, and unfortunately I think the Injury he sustained last year ended his career at the demons.

Thank you boys for your efforts in Red and Blue colours and I wish you well for the future.

Strange to delist Buckley unless his injury is career threatening.

He is surely better than the prospects out there for pick34 in this shallow draft.

He is great pace and great dash. Is a half back flanker. Seems exactly what we'd like.

It must be his poor decision making and poor kicking. Bailey is obsessed (and rightly so) with players who can hit targets

Doesn't this only free up one extra spot (i.e. not pick 34)? It just means that Valenti isn't going to be elevated from the rookie list or retained as 3rd year rookie, doesn't it?

We can say goodbye to Dylan Grimes then. Would have been a nice family connection but meh, tall defenders would be at the bottom of our wish list.

Seems like a contradiction to me, sylvinator.

Personally, I never saw anything other than pace from Buckley. And I think there has been a growing trend moving away from athleticism and towards skill in football.

the club may yet announce more delistings...probably unlikley but not impossible

aww.. i wanted to see much more of Buckley.

Best wishes to the both of them! and i hope they manage to get into a another team and continue their careers.

Awwww, always sad when people get delisted.

:(

Its a shame that not everyone can get a go. This is what has to happen when we're rebuilding through the draft...

Maybe they want to use pick 34 on Kane Tenace?

YES!!!!!!!

Yep. That's my reading of it. Barts may be added to the list if the rumours are correct.

Delisting is obviously tough on the boys, but I expect they saw it coming .......... and I'm certainly glad that the MFC have made what some around here will undoubtedly see as the wrong decisions. Personally, I'm very pleased that TMac may have missed the chop. IMO he shows loads of promise.

Good luck to Bucks and Valenti. I hope they get picked up by another club.

Very sad to see them go....but unfortunately they had there chances to impress in a less that impressive side. I hope they both have more luck elsewhere.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
