I think there is a huge chance (if the HAWKS DEAL) we could offer pick 18 and Jamar for Burgoyne!!

wouldnt be a bad result would it?

fair midfield inclusions

Scully

Trengove (I hope)

Burgoyne

and a KPP - Black,Butcher etc for pick 11

decent work for mine!!!

They obviously want Burgoyne. Hawks supporters should remember they got Gibson. If they get Burgoyne I think it's pretty good for them, given at where they are at.

Hawks supporters are just emotional.

They won't pick up much in the draft that's all.

Not sure its just emotional hawks supporters. The deal stinks. As it has been said this deal would be a win for port. Hawks got lucky picking up dew but this might end up leaving egg all over there faces.

I would rather chase Campbell Brown if he cracks it at Hawthorn-you never know....

Still can't help but wonder about this. Sure the Hawks are trading like there's no tomorrow, but still hard to believe they'd seriously offer Brown.

Of all the Hawks' players that they'd realistically offer for trade (i.e. excluding Buddy, Rioli etc), the one that's going to cause the most hullaballoo among their supporters is Brown.

Perhaps they're just putting pressure on Port to settle for McGlynn (their first choice to trade for Burgoyne) by demonstrating that Port can't realistically expect them to offer a core player, even their least-skilled core player. They're prepared to offer pick 9 + fringe player, but not pick 9 + core player.

If they're seriously offering Brown, it's going to cause a palace coup among ttheir supporters.

Internet rumour:

TRADE NEWS: Burgoyne to Hawthorn. Picks 9 and 16 to Port Adelaide. Mark Williams and Pick 24 (from Port) to Essendon.

Wasn't M.Williams a Premiership player ? Thought Jeff said no Premiership players ..

Story doing the rounds on Adelaide radio that Port now have picks 8 (original), 9 (Hawthorn) and 10 (Essendon)......

If this is true, they have come out massive winners in this Burgoyne trade!!!!

Got it on fairly good authority that they are keen on Panos (Norwood)

But until it is confirmed somewhere, I am not sure that the pick 10 part is right..... I hope they don't have it.....

Port are really on the nose, they will have Trouble enticing anyone to that Rabble at this point in time.

And is Mark Williams (Port coach, not Hawks player) really overseas at the moment (reported in the paper)?

What the hell, how can a coach be away from the club during trade week? Shouldn't he be approving deals?

:huh::wacko:

How would they end up with pick 10 from essendon? It would mean hawthorn gave a player to essendon in exchange for pick 10 and then moved that pick on to port along with 9 for SB. I thought mark williams was on the table and he is not worth pick 10

I know.... I think they are getting a bit confused myself.... I think it should be Picks 9 (Hawks) and 16 (Ess via. St Kilda trade for lovett)

They are adamant that the paperwork is being signed at the moment for Port to gain picks 9 and 10, Hawks get SB and Essendon get MW.....

Not sure who to believe.... Surely Hawthorn don't want SB that badly..... Holy [censored].... If Port get picks 9 AND 10 for him, they are clear winners in the deal

wow.. so if they get all of those picks.. hopefully that means they pick all the local boys and we can get Butcher with pick 11 B)

I have a strong feeling (whisper) that if they are still available, Port will grab Tapscott and Panos....

If they get a third pick at Number 10 (surely unlikely) then I am not sure who they will take....

Will be interesting...

5aa radio interviewing Peter Rohde as I type.....

Re: Burgoyne trade

They are in the middle of mediation.... Peter is bound by confidentiality until finished.... Basic scenario is that Port will get 9 and 16..... The deal is apparently done.... But in a shock.... It involves FOUR clubs!

That is all he could say.... So Port will have Picks 8,9 and 16.... Could not elaborate on it anymore as they were in the middle of signing paperwork.....

Interesting!!!

SEN and Adelaide Radio have confirmed a Three Way Trade

Simply broken down

Hawthorn - Receive - Shaun Burgoyne

Port Adelaide - Receive - Pick 9,16 and Jay Nash (Essendon)

Essendon - Receive - Mark Williams (Hawthorn), Pick 24

Picks to be distributed tomorrow TBC - Pick 24, 40 and 61

From what I can see Port are the massive winners here..Burgoyne has yielded 2 great Draft Picks...And a young speedy youngster who is an SA boy..

Hawks have got a near 27 year old who has been sub par in the past 2 seasons..and now have no first round draft picks..And clearly would have hurt a loyal servant in Campbell Brown..

Essendon have effectively traded Lovett for Mark Williams...

oh and Jeff Kennett has made a fool of himself saying that Hawks would not trade any premiership players..

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
