Well I was one of the only ones from the start talking him up as I knew him when he was drafted and he is still a very good mate of mine so I agree with you but I hope that post wasnt aimed at me because I was the one who was talking him up from the start.

Not you mate.

With regards to the original poll is there a both option?

I'd love him to be one of those players that does the job in defence for 3 quarters, and then is swung down forward in a tight last qtr and be a wild card down there.

I see him and Hurley (Ess) being very dangerous swingmen in the future.

GOOD NEWS !!!

Just speaking to Col. He will start running next week and is happy about the recovery from his foot. Very confident

That really is good news ..he is a very exciting prospect if he can get back to full fitness.

If he can take up where he left off he will be a very important part of our side .... wherever he plays.

For mine, I will be happy with any contribution to the senior team we get out of the following players after a disastrous 2009: Garland, Wonaeamirri, Blease & Strauss

Absolutely, in essence they are new recruits, which on paper looks pretty damn exciting. However I'd say 2010 will be very much a, dare I say it, "week to week' proposition for these guys. They will all spend time playing at Casey and are going to have to work really hard after missing such a chunk of football.

I can vouch for him being a good bloke. Fantastic news that he is back and moving, hopefully his athleticism remains because last time i saw him he seemed like he had stacked on a nice amount of muscle.

I laugh hard and long reading these Garland threads. Flash back to Round 1 & 2 2008, the vitriol and pure ignorance that was posted here was a disgrace. Now after a long layoff and a promising 2008, he is the missing link. Displays the worst of forums such as this and the fickleness of supporters.

This was before my time, but I've done a search and I must say most posters were positive towards Garland apart from just a few. However, I agree with your last sentence in other matters.

Did Hannabal really go back and delete all of his comments from that thread about how he thought Garland was crap? He actually made several comments, but now all that's left are the quotes from others' posts.

Wow, that's pretty vain! It's putting your nuts on the line and then finding a time machine after you've been castrated!!

OMG.

Anyway, here's hoping that Colin gets back to where he was 15 months ago.

Talking to a mate who had lunch with a few Demon officials a few weeks ago, they said Col hasn't come up, and is still in a very bad place. Pretty much said he's F**ked

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
