Read on Demonology that Colin is in a moon boot again and will not be able to train for another 6 weeks.

Does anyone know anymore about this?

I read basically the exact thread word-for-word a few weeks back, so I'm hoping it's just old news from the Demonology thread's OP.

According to Demonology he has had another operation on the foot because the club were not happy with the previous operation.

The poster saw him today with the moon boot on.

It would be nice if the club could keep us up to date with this information rather than rumours circulating the net.

  • 3 weeks later...

Demons training around Albert Park this morning.

Injury updates- Colin Garland came out of the moonboot 2 days ago

John Meesan- very frustrated man. Still hasn't recovered from his stress fractures. Had a set back and will be walking for the next 2 weeks. Will then resume running.

McNamara- in high spirits. Looks good physically. Could be one to watch for.

That's tough for Meesen. But great for Garland.

Hopefully McNamara's high spirits are a result of him getting a new contract. I wanna see more of him.

Cheers for that. Great Info

Dont know why we bothered with Meesen anyway.. his setback may just force a re-think come draft day.

I really missed watching him this year.

Me too.

I met him briefly at a game this year and asked him when he thought he'd be back. He replied "two oh one oh". He seemed forlorn.

He was great for us down back, and if he takes up where he left off, he's a certain top 22er.

Meesen has shown a whole lot more than Spencer, PJ, and others bar Jamar and even then it has only been glimpses from Jamar too.

I don't know about that. He had a couple good moments in the minute he played between injuries..

There's more upside to Spenny and he's still young (19?). He's getting bigger, got a bit of agro, a good tap

and definately worth another year to look for that progression we hope for.

I'd dump Meese for Vardy from the ND, in a heart beat if it were possible

I laugh hard and long reading these Garland threads. Flash back to Round 1 & 2 2008, the vitriol and pure ignorance that was posted here was a disgrace. Now after a long layoff and a promising 2008, he is the missing link. Displays the worst of forums such as this and the fickleness of supporters.

For mine, I will be happy with any contribution to the senior team we get out of the following players after a disastrous 2009: Garland, Wonaeamirri, Blease & Strauss

Well I was one of the only ones from the start talking him up as I knew him when he was drafted and he is still a very good mate of mine so I agree with you but I hope that post wasnt aimed at me because I was the one who was talking him up from the start.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
