I didnt mention Tom McNamara either, I think he has a future and could also play either end.

Bailey has found some versatile kids.

I'm a fan. McNamara is just older than the latest crop of recruits, so essentially he's a first year player. Needs to hit some consistent form with Casey and stay injury free to make the grade. Could be cut at the end of this season if he fails to do so.

He has been injured a lot, which doesn't help his chances at the end of the year. I hope if they do think of letting him go, then they Rookie him.

Tommy Mac was a bottom age recruit, drafted at 17.

He has had a lot of injury concerns but has shown a bit with Casey this year. I hope we persist, because as a developing key position player, he might take 2 more years to grow into his body and really influence games. He is said to have a really good ability to read the play, which automatically makes him a worthwhile longer term project.

With CG and WS coming into the competition, the spread of talent across 18 teams means less top talent for each club and a reduced likelihood of getting lucky with later draft picks. We should therefore try and hold onto young, developing players that we see have a definite upside. At 19, McNamara could well develop into a much better player than pick 50 in this year's draft.

Critical points IMO. They have to think long and hard before they let go of any young players, for these very reasons. Same applies to Jordie McKenzie.

Oh, and YM also left out James Strauss, who's just had a shoulder reco apparently but who could be anything off a HBF in future because of his disposal skills, which will put him near the head of the long line of competitors for HBF spots in future. Fair to say he's struggled this year though.

Have you watched McNamara?

Mcnamara is younger then Neville Jetta and about 2 months older then Bennell and Strauss.

I've only seen a few games but he reads the play well, gives a lot of run and nice hands. Good kick, field kicking that is.

I would punt on him then rather Wheatley, Whelan or the mid rangers like Bell.

I remember reading last year that when he first came over he was very home sick, it wouldn't supprise me if he wants to go home, he may appear on Adelaide or ports rookie list.

I highly doubt it. Robbo, Wheatley, Whelan, McDonald are pretty much certain to be delisted.

Dunn & dusted. I'd rather he play guitar & draft another who has a potential future, maybe even a James Hird?

Robbo's had his fair share. Time to retire rather than sack him.
