Robbo still needs to go.

It was a better performance but his attitude is still unacceptable in my book

Robbo can play up a bit, and it does get annoying, but he stands up when the game is on the line and has won us plenty off his own boot in the past.

We don't have anyone right now capable of replacing his four goal contribution, therefore he stays.

Gotta take the good with the bad.

By the way Graz, Robbo's second efforts have been much better since he was dropped. One example yesterday was where he dived on a loose ball in the forward pocket, literally sliding across the ground to get under the opponent's feet. It was a great defensive effort, and one that he needs to keep repeating every week.

There were at least two times yesterday where he went to ground, so he didn't have to chase. He did however put on a couple of good chases. But there was also a moment, where Jetta was in space to his right and should and could have easily given the handball off to him, who would have had an easy shot from 30-35 out directly in front, but instead Robbo tried a snap from 40 and it ended up going 20 metres and closer to the right forward pocket boundary line. That was one of the most damning moments of his game for me, yesterday.

Best game from Rivers I've seen in a long time, and I'm ashamed to say I'd given up on Robbo. Very pleased he proved me wrong.

Im not arguing about this again as i dont want to bring negativity out of a great possitive day, i love robbo and am very greatfull for things his done for the club!

Im not sure whether or not many were simply wearing rose coloured glasses or simply refuse to subject some favoured sons to the same scrutiny as others.

Over all Rivers game was a vast improvement, but Ill go as far as saying his game was very nearly very costly. His decision making is the key, not just his kicking. It is non sensical to have done many of his plays going forward.. kicking to ridiculous contests and he must have been watching the Cam Bruce school of handpassing at times as it was woeful.

No one, certainly not I questions his gutsiness..but it means very little in the grand scheme of things if you keep giving it to the opposition..

Having said that he ( JR ) had only to look at what Grimes was doing to understand good footy.

Rivers nearly lost the game for us with 3 straight woeful turnovers by foot in the last quarter.

I still thought he was great though, you csnt teach courage like that, or timing.

Rivers was great. As was our entire back half. Frawley, Warnock. Great games. I can't say the same for Robbo though. A few more selfish efforts from him.

The majority of the side was fantastic though. Some skills errors, but they're to be expected. The young kids in particular were just brilliantly exciting to watch. When Jurrah runs at a pack he's more exciting than anything I've seen for a long time. Jetta's tackling and defensive pressure was fantastic all day as well. Bennell played an extremely encouraging game as well. Not all of his disposals were 100% effective, but he seemed to cover a lot more ground than usual and it almost seemed as though he felt he belonged today. Then Jackie Grimes. Wow, what a game he played. Another draft of more young talent and in three or four years we'll definitely be contenders.

Jurrah Floating to take the pack mark reminded me of Michael Jordan jumping from a long way out at a slam dunk. he just keeps floating vertically, almost defying gravity.

Does anyone else see a bit of Joel Selwood of 2007 in Jack Grimes of 2009?

Hated Robbo's boots, but understood and appreciated why he wore them. I don't really like the showponies who have to wear different boots etc. to stand out (reimers etc)

Rivers was good not geat. You can't turn the ball over as much as he did as well as that effort to spoil Lynch who luckily missed the shot on goal and say he was great. It was his best performance this year but that's not saying much. He would still have to perform better and more consistantly for me to jump on his bandwagon. Robbo played well and he was on no mug either but like Rivers he will have to become more consistant before I would consider letting him go around for 1 more year. The team was good with their tackling and playing on at every opportunity I can't fault them. Grimes was superb. He would be the favorite for the rising star award if he wasn't playing for Melbourne. Brock was back to the Brock of old. Where has he been all this time?

In all fairness, McLean before this week has been dreadful. He was not on his own in that. But as our supposed No 1 midfielder, he had been very ordinary.

He's been slow, but has competed very well after a very poor first three rounds.

Just as an aside, I heard CC on 3AW mention that Brock didn't do any speed work in the PS and that we should expect him to get better in that department next season.

His game against St.Kilda and Bulldogs were good but his games in between even though he got a bit of the ball were average. He has had a very disappointing year, he not the only one mind you. My expectations of McLean are very high. I want him to be captain the game against West Coast was the first time this year that he showed that he was captain material.

Robbo not being able to keep his feet has nothing to do with hs 2nd efforts. His 2nd efforts were much improved yesterday, but still not good enough.

Robbo was back to SOME form again last night, and yes, WC gave him a bit more room, but credit were credit is due.

He wont be back to old form by the time he parts with the MFC, but still plays a role.

Give this guy a bloody break, he truly loves the club and tries his heart out, i no it can be frustrating because his chasing isnt a strong point and he does play for free kicks sometimes.

I only saw Robertson lay on the ground while the opposition ran away with the ball once yesterday. Sadly, that's an improvement.

Yes, that might have been the occasion when his opponent Hurn ran the length of the ground with the ball. To directly set up a goal. My summary: Rivers played well. Robbo played his best game for some time.

I can understand some of the emotion of some players after kicking a goal. But geez..........Robbo goes overboard.

Taking a mark is his job, taking mark of the day is just what his specialty is, how is this exceeding team things him flying for marks doing what he can to get chance at goal. Id rather him fly up then not even contest.

Also lots of people have always been slow, how many key forwards specialise in chasing.

Robbo also maybe slower than ussual due to that injury not having any preseason. Although robbo never really has been known for fast chase downs or maybe even speed in general its got him through 230 odd games.

You are right. Robbo should continue to do the low percentage things in preference to the higher percentage contests that help the team. He should also continue to work on that goal kick from flat on his back. Those tricks win games.
