-If you answer anything other than yes you surely don't barrack for Melbourne.

-Forget the "winning culture" crap because it's just that crap. This club has had it's heart pulled out, stood on, kicked and finally thrown away. We are a shell of a club, We have very very little going for us at the moment. The only thing we do have left is the possibility of creating a great team in 3 - 4 years time. Those of you who think beating WC or anyone else for that matter ala Dogs in 07 need your heads read, NikNat or Rich would currently be in Melbourne colours if we had lost that game as well as pick 18 from that draft. That means we would be a better side with more upside and more chance of claiming that Premeirship we so want. So next year when we can look back at our 5 great wins this year and Scully is running around for West Coast are you telling me that you're going to be thinking "Gee, I'm glad we beat WC in that great game last year" I'm mean that's just truly ridiculous and if you weren't being argumentative fools you'd know it, if you don't already.

I would contend that this is one of the primary areas Jim Stynes has focused on and he is succeeding admirably. The belief in the supporter group is something I haven't seen in a long time, including 2000.

I notice that Dean Cox has been left out of the Eagles' team on the basis of his injury. That stuffs them up this week against Hawthorn and I wouldn't be surprised if Big Cox takes a bit more time to recover and will miss against Melbourne the following week as well.

West Coke do not want another win in 2009. Their Tanking is even Longer than Carlton which was executed for 11 weeks. Straight after their thrashing of Port Adelaide in Round 11 2007.

We must lose to them in order to win.

He'll be rested for the remainder of the Season. They've shut up shop. West Coast are still to play Freo, North, Dees, Rich, & they don't want to win another game. If we can get them the 4 points onto their ladder tally, it won't take some team much more to push them over.

WCE have won 7 games out of 34 games in 2 years. They have not won away from home since 2007.

Rnd-14 is one game worth a draft pick on it's own. It can give us the 2 front seats @ the premier of the biggest November dance party we'll be going to this year.

This is the only time we can dictate our destiny in terms of draft picks, I hate saying it but this is one game in which we must lose. I would love to go into the draft with pick 1 & 2 it allows us the fantastic position in which we can pick 2 brilliant players without being compromised by having a team that should be middle table (west coast) taking pick 2 from us when they do not deserve it. Yes the difference between having 1&2 and 1&3 does not sound much but it could be the difference in getting a butcher.

Short sighted views in Footy really annoy me. Its about premierships not meaningless victories in a losing season. Anyone who thinks that win against the doggies was worthwhile is on the wrong wave lenght.

I agree that id much rather lose to west coast and knock off maybe Carlton towards the end of the year. Beating West coast wont achieve anything and wont even really give me a good winning feeling, knowing that their hearts arent in it anyway and knowing what we risk losing.

Well, by golly, your views and those expressing simiklar sentiment, irritate me enormously.I want to see the team win! I'm desparate to see them win, and so too are the kids on the list. And not just the kids--the mid-level players who may be quite good but inevitably look awful in a side losing each week--their entire futures are at stake.

I think it's critical to morale and indeed integrity of the club, that they pick the best 22 designed to win a particular match. If this means playing Wheatley [3rd in last year's B and F] Newton and Dunn instead of, eg Watts Jetta and Morton, then it should happen. Everyone on the list is entitled to show what he can do and this means picking the team on form, not potential.The kids will get enough games this year to progress in any event.
