The Northern Bullants vs. Casey Scorpions Senior & Reserves matches for Round 10 have been rescheduled to Saturday 13th June.

The Senior game will remain at 2:00 PM and the Reserves at 11:10 AM and the venue remains Visy Park.

The reason for the change is the Carlton Football Club has organised capital works to be carried out at Visy Park on the Sunday 14th and therefore no electricity available.

Despite the GFC, I don't think it'll break your bank.

Check out the prices on the VFL Website

I hope Jurrah plays well and gets a call up for the next match against the Bombers

Where is Visy Park?

Carlton's home ground Princes Park.

If you go by train/tram and are one of the first 100 to present a Metcard you get in for free.

why are we playing there? Isn't the bullants home ground in preston?

The Bullants are affiliated with Carlton and have 2 home grounds, Visy Park and Cramer Street, Preston. Neither is available on Sunday.

There's still a fair way to go but the VFL has announced that the Collingwood v Casey Round 14 fixture has also been changed. The Collingwood vs. Casey Scorpions match has been scheduled to be played at Trevor Barker Beach Oval, Sandringham at 1:10 PM (ABC TV) on Saturday 18th July. The venue had not been previously determined but it's almost like a home game for Casey  .

I hope that Jake Spencer is fit and that he plays in the seniors, not the reserves. He needs to play against the best possible opposition to maximise his potential.

It also looks like they've decided to rest Brad Miller who played last week and presumably would have been eligible to play again this week. Probably suggests he'll be back at Melbourne next Friday night. He would have been handy for the Scorps but I suppose it's understandable as he would have had a six day break before the Bombers' game.

i would've thought some players like jamar (who probably needs the match fitness, as he has only played 2 afl games), could've warrented a game.

It seems Miller will come back and Watts will stay in, If this Is the case I dont think we'll see Jurrah just yet. If Lj has another good game I say bring him In for Robo. Give the young guys a run, whats the use In playing Robo when he most likely be moved on at years end.

Posted

doesn't necessarily mean Miller will come straight back in... remember he's played every game in the AFL since round one... at his age they could simply be giving him a rest...

Anyone know whether there are any restrictions on team selection for Casey this week?

Yeah, I would imagine that Miller, who has played 10 games for MFC, is inelligible for Casey this week, so we can't read too much into his non selection. Equally Watts and Jamar played for MFC last week and are probably similarly inelligible.

A definitive answer for somebody would be nice.

Isn't it great to see our available players playing VFL seniors, Except Zomer. Most of them are in the position we drafted them for.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
