wow christensen is only 176cm's. interesting. most people of that height either dont get picked up or slide majorly.

Daniel Kerr didn't.

Might cost him a couple of picks but if he's an inside midfielder with decent leg speed it shouldn't be taken into too much consideration

Sheedy's supercoach big tip today = Grimes.

Word is starting to get around, still a big chance for the rising star this year!

Keep pumping his tyres Monty.

In all seriousness, does anyone have any figures of a list of winners of the Rising Star award and how many games they played of that particular year?

And...

Would 16 games be enough to secure the award? (Grimes has played 1 with 15 possible remaining)

That's still 3cm then :P

Kerr was drafted at 177cm if you REALLY want to go back to then so it's only 1cm, and there's the possibility Christensen will grow between now and the end of the year.

surely you jest. 22 games in a season? without getting injured?

edit: he missed round 17, and played in the first final (we lost to essendon by 5 points). apparently he did get injured.

It would but those games would have to be of a very consistent high standard and a player would stand more of a chance by playing the last 16 given the Recent Memory Effect.

I don't think many of the Panel Members do any great in-depth research prior to voting and tend to find it easier to recall more recent deeds. Rich was good early but has faded and more recently Hill has stood out.

A good strong finish would certainly do Grimes' chances no harm.

Cheers, Einstein.

One would think over the last several seasons, a full season goes a long way to securing such an award. Grimes would have to play exceptionally well over 16 games to have a chance. Anyone got the sportsbet number??

I hate dream team talk but .... get on grimes. value hasn't changed and will play every game as long as he is fit.

Back on topic, but this kid has a head on his shoulders the right attitude and room for improvement. thats a pretty bloody good combinations. arguably excites me more than anyone else on our list. time will tell i spose.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
