*Note: All data from AFL club websites, except Essendon, West Coast to the best of my knowledge.

Any updated info on any of the teams, please post it. Especially figures concerning Freo & Sydney which I haven't been able to get just yet.

Game Day/match day figures are a little confusing at some clubs.......any info on certain clubs......feel free to post. Cheers. I'll update it as the cut off approaches. I'm hoping we knock off the Saints who have been closing in on us of late.

With two home games against Adelaide and Geelong coming, we should push through the 30,000 barrier comfortably.

Only 5000 less than Geelong?

Man it will look good when it ticks past 30,000.

Fremantles will most likely be well about 30,000 but last i heard the Swans were languishing around the 17,000 mark.

The Saints under 30,000 surprises me, particularly considering their start to the season. How fresh is this data?

GO MFC.

We can and will be a power. Loose the 4WD and snow season tag.

Well done Jimmy and the team.

Jeepers, the Saints and Dogs are having trouble aren't they? Preliminary finals, yet neither is at 30,000 yet.

Meanwhile delusional Carlton supporters are signing up in droves.

Tata Bang Goal makes a good point though: where'd you get this data from HT?

Ime guessing Geelong are at that level because their stadium is so small so it would be hard for even members to get a seat.

Fresher than freshly shucked oysters....- from clubs respective websites which are kept up to date (I'm sure, if they're updating anywhere near as frequent as the mighty Dees seem to be doing). Got Bombers figure from over at 'Corn Fields.'

Rightio then. Thanks HT.

What is the total membership dollars extracted for each Club?

We focus so much on the hard numbers of members without looking at the type of membership they are taking out. They are important but not the sole measure of membership

Put another way, how many $50 paying members do other Clubs have compared to MFC? Also how many of the members are premium or coterie members?

It interesting NM had 40+k last year after a can rattle and consecutive finals finishes. This year they are around 27k.

MFC must ensure any membership growth in $ and numbers is enduring.

Great point Rhino. The sole reason the Dorks are leading that ladder is because of the Tassie members option they provide for the 4 or 5 games down there. Similarly our figures are artificially inflated by the MCC memberships on offer.

It doesn't change your very valid point, but last year North's final membership tally was 34,342.

Good Point RR. The Higher Quality Memberships should come from winning consecutive Games. At present i don't mind if we get a few "Cheaper" members on board as it all helps to expand the Data Base. The hawks 50,000 looks good. This club must aim for that figure in the Future. The MCG has the room for all to be comfortably seated.

Hawks have around $7000 BS Tasmainian memberships which would deliver little $. Also their figure is otherwise inflated by what looks like a one off post premiership bandwagon.

and little expense.

didn't they have well over 40,000 last year anyway?

so good on them.

irrelevant thinking point: we've never won a premiership with more than a few thousand members......

Agree. They had done very well coupled with easy money from the Tassie Govt sponsorship.

Cant speak highly enough of stynes contribution to our Membership

I loved the mms on the phone urging people to sign up then ringing up and get a player.. great idea

Really surprised at the Doggies. My guess is that they'll be the new financial sucker.

Good questions. Unfortunately, I don't have each of the clubs treasurer's contact numbers :( ....I'm sure those figures would be published in some form in each of their own yearly reports.

Don't worry about the doggies, they will be a powerhouse in 20 years after the development in the west goes ahead. I was out there yesterday having a look at the estates. The mind boggles at the number of people that will live out there in the not too distant future.

Second generation migrant families are a massive future market for footy, Demons and the Dogs are in the box seat for a good slice of those.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
