Can't help but think that we never really got to see the true value this bloke had to offer us on the field.

Never Forgotten.

The years pass and despite that, it's a numbing experience just to think of that Boxing Day four years ago when the ocean took so many people away including many of our own. Troy Broadbridge was one of those special people, a player who was a friend of every fan and a nice bloke. That doesn't make the passing of time any easier but we won't forget.

I wrote a piece when Troy died called "Across the Universe with Troy", partly inspired by the Lennon/McCartney classic. By co-incidence Fox Showtime is screening a film with that title tonight. It's little things like that which remind us.

Rest In Peace.

One of the few players from this era I never met (sadly) and someone I didn't know a lot about until after his passing. A massive loss for the club as a player but more so as a person IMO.

Here's to Broady!!

When it happened 4 years ago I was overseas, and only got told about Broady through a friend.

4 years on and I'm back at the same place, but unfortunately for Troy's loved ones, so much has changed and they can't go back to a time where their husband/son/friend was still alive.

I have no doubt you are resting in peace, and that you're watching over the Demons proudly.

How true.

RIP Broady. I really believed Broady would make a great CHB and man up on the AFL's best CHF's. Sorely missed.

4 years go quickly don't they. I have been to thailand many times, sailed around Phi Phi but never walked on it...yet. I will as i plan to wear the MFC Footy Jumper over there one day, To see the school the club helped Build and to just remember Troy. Just for a few minutes of course as its bloody Hot.

I was at his last game, ironically it was one of his Best. R.I.P Broady-never Forgotten.

Its fantastic reading all the comment on here about Broady. I still can't believe he is gone. He was a really great person, who always went out of his way to be a complete gentleman to my sister and myself. He always made an effort to come have a chat at training or functions. A champion bloke, and a footballer just starting to his stride. I remember a game against the Saints in '04 where he made about 3 efforts/tackles in the middle of the ground in about 10 seconds of play. Great stuff.

We Miss Ya Broady! RIP #20

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
