Our Premiership drought is definitely the Curse of Norm Smith.

You don't really need to go into detail in the title. The curse of the bambino does not have to be called, the curse of trading the "bambino" to the yankees.

So when we lost '88, '00 - did we all think, "oh, its the curse of Norm Smith again...?"

Luck, and players willing to give their heart and soul into the team and the journey.

My black...white sox broke their curse in '05 with a team wholy commited to the cause. Boston broke theirs with players that seemed to epitomise team play, then Johnny Damon fcuked off the to Yankees (sellout).

The curse is not Barassi, we were 7-0 when we fired Smith weren't we? Then even after re-hiring him, we didn't even make the finals.

Just like that, the brightest light in Australian Football history was turned off, and didn't even flicker again until 1987

You need to look up the '04 ALCS series then!

Not as dramatic, but you should also look at their '07 ALCS, also 3-1 down in that. Wouldn't write them off, especially at Fenway

I have always believed in the Norm Smith Curse. The MFC lost its "Mojo" that Day. Northey almost got it back. (Good man John Northey) but failed ultimately.

Re igniting our ties with the MCC is a good start.

There you go G n J.

Boston, down 3-1 in the seris and 7-0 in the match.

Middle of the 7th inning, 7-0 down. Never underestimate the Red Sox at Fenway. They won 8-7.

It seems they haven't just broken their curse, they've blown it away

The famous Kennedy family in the US are cursed accroding to the media.

Everytime one of them dies the media says See the curse continues. <_<

Your post 45 has the same ring to it. Smith's departure was just a part of the tragedy that unfolded in the 1960s.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
