Last day of trade week!

No, it's not massive for the Dogs, you're quite right. But it's a upgraded pick that can be worthwhile for them, they have already learnt much about Ray, they will see it significant for them in terms of the draft.

It was a chance to offload a player who was surplus to their needs. At pick 31 you really dont know what you are going to be trawling for.

I would suggest that the Ray deal is about "market" for him.

........ but Brisbane must know something if they were prepared to offload him for nothing.

They know something.......I think you got it in one. Without having to go any further....... . He does lack defensively and Vossy would be big on this.

it is very odd that warnock doesnt want to play with his brother so badly!!!!

i think there is something wrong there......... very very strange!!!!

if he cant get to carlton he still doesnt want melbourne!!!

is that not odd?

Has he come out and said "I dont want to play with my brother"? No.

He has said that he would prefer to play with football with Carlton. Its football not family.

What do you mean he cant get to Carlton?

At this stage he will nominate for the PSD on his expensive contract proposal and Carlton will be only party to deal with him.

I cant see MFC blowing PSD 1 on a player with a 4 year 400k contract who apparently steadfastly refuses to play for it.

i think the thing here 'that is wrong' is you listening to media speculation

Wanrock has never been directly quoted as having said 'i won't go to MFC'

More than likely he told his manager this was his PREFERENCE and his manager is using all the tricks in the book to get his player what he wants most. As he is paid to do.

Exactly Robert Warnock has not said a word to the media.

It is all medisa speculating that he would rather go to a club like Carlton where he can link with Judd and Co.

However if the price he is asking is true then we cannot afford him.

So what else is going on?

There's only about 1 hour and 15 minutes until all the trades are finalised! What's going on with Brad Green?

Don't tell me the AFL Clubs have all stopped for a 1 hour lunch break?!

C'mon Melbourne Football Club ....hurry up and get Brad Green signed or trade him! I don't wanna see him leaving in the PSD and we get NOTHING!

Spot on Pants.

And HT raises good points about existing options we have.

I am no fan of Corrie who just does not work hard defensively and goes missing when the heats on. He may have played 20 games this year (and some were very ordinary) but Brisbane must know something if they were prepared to offload him for nothing.

The same thing would have been said about Medhurst and Leon Davis 2 seasons ago. Malthouse has obviously got confidence in his ability to change this in a player.

Apparently Cats and Bombers still in talks

If Warnock goes through to the PSD we 100000% should pick him up.

In any normal circumstances he's worth a first round pick, so it's essentially picking up an extra 1st rounder for FREE.

Just pay him 350k a season. If he turns into a champ ruckman it'll be worth it!!! our ruck stocks are terrible atm and he could be the fix it needs.

We'v got room in the cap, i'd rather pay out Carrol for 250k and spend 350k on a player that truely has a future!!!!

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
