Predictions for close of trade week

So what do we think will happen tomorrow?

Heres what you will see -

Melbourne send Brad Green and pick 51 to Collingwood in exchange for pick 29 and Ben Reid.

Robbie Warnock will not get to Carlton, and will come to the Demons in the PSD.

O'Keefe to Hawthorn , pick 16 to Essendon, Andrew Lovett and pick 23 to Sydney.

Brent Prismall to the Bombers for a 3rd rounder.

West Coast to send Ashley Hansen to the Bulldogs for a 2nd rounder.

First off, I would say that I greatly enjoy your posts Yze_Magic.

I remember how much amusement and annoyance you caused back on BigFooty with the nuff-nuffs on there.

In relation to your hypothetical trades for tomorrow. I honestly don't even know who Ben Reid is?! Some mongrel player at Collingwood who supposedly has a bit of talent? I would prefer taking Collingwood's first round draft pick for Brad Green. ;)

I do hope that the Robbie Warnock deal with Freo and Carlscum falls through....then as you say...we can grab him for FREE in the Pre-Season Draft! :P

The rest of the deal could be a possibility. But apparently the deal between Hawthorn and Sydney for O'Keefe was "breaking down" at the end of today?

Just quietly how old is Ashley Hansen? Wasn't he a Demons supporter as a kid? If he's under 23 we should consider picking him up from the Eagles ourselves! Beats worrying about Brent Prismall from Geelong who is recovering from a knee injury.

Oh well...that's my 2 cents. B)

I think:

Brad Green will re-sign for whatever we were offering him

Robbie Warnock comes to the Dees for pick 19

Seaby goes to Richmond for something

Prismall goes to the PSD

Dont think O'Keefe will end up leaving

Hansen is a fast leading type forward who requires good supply supply, which Melbourne midfield cannot give (for a few seasons). Would also think that being 26 (before the start of next season) would not be a good fit at Melbourne.

Green to Collingwood for picks 29 and 45

Ash Hansen to the dees- watch this space.

Warnock to Carlton for pick 24

Prismall to not go through- come to dees via psd

Chris Johnson to the saints for 31

Lovett to the Swans

It is a stone cold certainty that Warnock will go to the blues. Fremantle are holding out to see if they get anythin better. But they won't let him go for free. Give up on him he will go to Carlton.

If Green goes, I'll be so shattered. I had him all lined up for captain next year :( .

Yze, White - see ya later. It won't pain me to see either of these two play in another jumper (maybe White just a bit..), but to see Green playing for Collingwood or Sydney would be awful!

Green to say first thing tomorrow trade me to the scum at the lexus centre

Hansen or Boyle to the doggies

Prismall to go into PSD...to the dees

I just can't see Freo doing the trade... Carlton will have to give something else, even it is a nuff nuff so they can save face otherwise Freo will look like dicks if they accept 24 right on the knocker and wasted the whole week on it

to be fair to YM, these trades are not too far from left field. They are all possible deals given the crazy day that is ahead.

Not sure on the greeny deal, i think we could do better than that, but a trigger finger could see a deal such as that done.

Has played 27 games over the last 2 years, generally I am against trading in players who will clog up the medical rooms.

I'm sorry I can't see the ridiculous Aaron Davey "lock it in" prediction there - you must have momentarily forgotten about it

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
