  1. Just FYI... in case you were expecting to see sunshine on your TV this Sunday... potentially 50mm of rain over two days - this one could be a very ugly game to watch... Probably won't be as bad as Metricon several weeks back - but I think this makes a big difference as to what contest this will see. I hope we have learnt something from the Hawks game, because the Bloods will play the wet pretty well I reckon! Discuss...
  2. Good work Karmichael. I know this is Demitrou's wet dream come true. Cop that Richmond. still rather see a Tassie or NT AFL team some day, but I guess we have to go along with the circus that is our 'National Game'
  3. Yes you will have a blast! I went two years ago when we won by a point, fans going wild. It's a shame none of the territory boys aren/t playing, that's what the locals up there come for. No Jurrah , no Davey (and no more Wona ) But yeah I bought my ticket earlier that week leading up to the game, just on Mitchell street (the Flinders Street equivalent if you like) up in Darwin city from the Arts Centre there, reserved seat, right near the players race. So close to the action too, not like the 'G or Eithad! ground is about 20 minutes out of town. plenty of buses will be running. Should be a crowd of anywhere between 7000 - 10000 i reckon. You should check out training during the week too if you're there early in the week! A really good opportunity to get up close and chat to the players/coaches - but you may have to catch a taxi for that one. Ring up AFL NT too if ya get stuck, they'll give you all the info you need! Enjoy the game.
  4. there are a lot of frustrated people on this forum.
  5. Jetta - his best game. ---> getting a bit picky here, but i went and saw the boys play port in Darwin last year (one point win!) and that was his best game in my opinion, dominated in the slippery, humid conditions! but yes, he was good last night, I'm loving Jetta and Bennell combos!
  6. Thanks RudeBoy and Japaljarri. Having been to yuendumu and playing a game there (our school - MECS goes there every year for our Central Australia trip) i can totally relate to what you guys are saying. I am still expecting Liam to kick 10 one game! I get the impression that he's being tried in different roles and told to hold back on the speccies by the coaching staff... is this true? I wish they could just give him a bit more freedom to play his own game... Can't wait to see Jungarrayi take a hanger again!
  7. As ordinary as we have been tonight. the umpires have really sucked the [censored] of the west coast supporters, giving in to their louder cheering of ball after every tackle as well as letting several balls that were clearly over the line go un noticed.
  8. I miss the days of Davey tearing it up in the forward line... never was a fan of him as a midfielder (even though he's probably our most accurate kick) having said that, we probably have enough players of that mould to fill those positions anyway (e.g. Jetta, Bennell, Jurrah, Wonna, Maric...) but it'd be great to see him kicking goals ... and doing this more often: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xeh4Ws0ugs
  9. An ABC news story about an outbreak of violence in Liam's home town for those who are interested: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/09/15/3012685.htm?section=justin
  10. Yep I thought it was brilliantly done. Corey Jones should have gone in through with him, but I guess they're both just too bloody modest.
  11. humble pie anyone? lol there goes my $20 down the drain...
