Straight from the horses mouth

Spoke to Brent Prismall last night at the Geebung, and yes, straight from his mouth came the words that he is going to be a Demon in 09 and beyond.

Said the Cats offered him 2 years, and we have offered him 3. He wants opportunity, which he cannot see himself getting at the Cats.

So he wants to be a Demon, it just has to happen.

Call me whatever you like, it came straight from him.

Also in attendance last night at the Geebung were many Saints boys, and a one Michael Voss.

Im a bit torn on this.

yes the kid can play big time, but he has just done his ACL.

Although that isnt the disaster that it was 15 years ago, its still not ideal.

If we can snag him in the PSD though, I will be pretty happy.

If he was available in the PSD for free I would take him no hesitation. Still yet I find it hard to believe why he would come out and tell a complete stranger he was heading to melbourne? Lol as much as I'd like it too happen sane ppl just don't go and do that.

he is 22 now

wont be really fit and raring to go until at least half way through the season

add in the fact that he will be at a new club and will need time to settle

add in the fact that he wont be supported by some of the best gun midfielders around him

plus, he has a huge injury and we already have our moloney/rivers/davey/mcleans on our list

is he worth it? not for pick 1, 17 or 19

i will be fuming if we lose one of these picks to the cats

If it is true, and I doubt it, it says something about the maturity level of Prismall.

What, that he acts like a 22 year old?

I think most people with enough drinks in them would spill the beans to almost anything.

And why should he keep it a secret? The Cats might want him to, but if he's decided to come to MFC there's no real incentive for him to keep it under wraps.

Its a big gamble to take him, and just for him to get back to the form he had before the injury will take 2 years imho.

So you're saying that it's common practice for a footballer to tell a total stranger in a pub that he's going to another club, prior to telling his current club? Yeah right!

Perhaps he was taking the pizz out of a perceived nuff nuff supporter.

We are dead as a club if we trade for Prismall, an extraordinarily over-rated player.

Your kidding right..a guy who averages around 20 possy's in the comps elite team, elite midfield..given the role with mclean in our side- and we'll be set.

Deestroyers- what else did he say? how do you think the club are trying to get him, if we're offering 3, and geelong only 2

i reckon we should schnag him, injury decreases his value *even though it doesnt really*

go melbourne and go prismall

He's just a player, not particularly quick or skiful. He runs into the right areas and does some good things, but there's nothing about him to suggest he would help us that much. He benefits from playing for Geelong, Shannon Byrnes looks good for Geelong and is ordinary. I'd rather us try and get Liam Bedford.

Isn't there another thead that says Prismalls mum says he's not going anywhere? I think we'll just have to wait and see. Seems funny that we'd be chasing a good player with a serious injury. Would think DB/MFC would have more smarts than that.

Totally agree. He is a good player but boy do people overrate him. Plays as the 7-8th midfielder, Not quick and footskills-vision okay but questionable under duress.

James Kelly benefits most from playing in Geelong.

I'm saying you shouldn't assume he's immature just cos he told someone he's probably switching teams.

I don't see why it shouldn't be common practice to have a chat about your future plans to someone who is interested, especially if you've got nothing to hide.

He's not exactly Buddy Franklin - doesn't live under a media microscope, so probably sees nothing wrong with telling a supporter, much like i don't.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

The Demons almost blew a six goal lead and ultimately hung on to win by three points over the North Melbourne Kangaroos at the MCG and have temporarily jumped back into the Top 8.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
