Really enjoyed that article.

He's come a long way since his debut last year when he looked like that 'unco' kid who you couldn't believe was getting a game.

I reckon one or two panelists may give him a vote in the NAB rising star.

I'm surprised the article didn't mention the bigfooty.com incident when Garland bagged Neitz as being the worst captain in the AFL the season before he got drafted.

Good to finally see some recognition for the defender.

"In 300 minutes of playing on Nick Riewoldt, Alan Didak, Robert Murphy, Brett Burton, Hall and Rioli, Garland did not concede a goal".

This was a great line from the article.

That could have been awkward

I'd like to see some really in depth analysis of Garland in relation to the "300 minutes" stat.

Zac Dawson played 70 minutes on Rocca and Rocca didn't kick a goal, only problem was that in the other 8 minutes Rocca kicked 8 goals. Depending which minutes you chose

I am positive Reiwoldt kicked a couple on him, but the others are spot on. He was unlucky against Bradshaw and even a couple of Buddy's, but got he towelled up Motlop last week, first week back from a hammy.

Garland shows a certain kind of desperation playing as backman that reminds me a little of Craig Bolton. I think we will find it hard to move him forward, because it is pretty hard to replace players with great closing speed and spoiling techniques, and can also play on bigs and smalls. We've got ourselves a gem in Garland i reckon.

Wow, I must have missed something. Is there a link about this somewhere?

Why don't you try the first post by the OP.

The BigFooty comment wasn't really that much chop from memory, he just queried why Neitz was included in a 'best CHF' or similar poll between about 5-6 players.

I'll bet the players all had a good laugh about it and moved on

They are talking about the Big Footy thing.

P.S. What happened with that?

OK

I read 'Coldawg's' comments a couple of years back. They were no big deal.

he said something along the lines of: it was a joke that somebody thought neitz was a good CHB

Thanks, I managed to find the post (I should really get a life...)

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
